Troubled Teen Boarding Schools in Virginia

Troubled Teen Boarding Schools for Boys in Virginia May Not Have What Master’s Ranch in Missouri Has

Although this troubled teen boarding school is not located in Virginia, Master’s Ranch in Missouri might be exactly what that can help your boy if he’s getting in trouble and have gotten off track in life.

Master's Ranch Christian AcademyMaster’s Ranch is a boarding school for troubled teenage boys, helping boys from Virginia. Although our ranch is found in rural Missouri, rather than in Virginia, we would love the opportunity to tell you about our affordable program.

If your son has gotten off track, he could use someone to confide in who will hear him and speak truth to him without judgment. We provide therapy throughout the week, both one-on-one and also group counseling sessions. Throughout each boy’s stay, we engage them constantly as someone they can talk to freely, making therapy non-threatening and ongoing in a more natural environment. We maintain a watchful eye, especially in the early days, but we do so while giving them loving care and inspiring them toward a personal relationship with God. We operate like a family, caring for these boys no matter what and walking through the days right with them, coaching and teaching them.

Master’s Ranch was Founded to Offer Sons from Virginia a New Path in Life

Master's Ranch Christian AcademyMaster’s Ranch is a new home for boys from places like Virginia, who need proper direction to change the course of their lives. Parents bring their young men, age 12-17, to Master’s Ranch after seeing them begin to get in trouble and headed on a downward spiral that cannot be helped by counseling alone.

Boys from Virginia come to our boarding school to live in a disciplined environment, learning obedience and personal responsibility through a renewed focus on faith, caring for themselves and their future, and through caring for the animals on our ranch. We treat education as a privilege, and we teach boys to think about it in the same way.

Troubled Boys spend a great deal of their free time fishing, playing sports, and generally learning how to have wholesome fun again.

Physical Training in our Troubled Teen Boarding School

Master's Ranch Christian AcademyWe start right away with physical exercise to bring boys up to a minimum level of fitness. They develop muscle, their self-esteem improves, and they experience something positive as they begin to meet fitness goals. The same concepts also work well in other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in school, their accomplishments bolster confidence so that boys are built up.

Helping Boys learn New Boundaries

Master’s Ranch Christian Academy goes beyond traditional boarding schools in that it helps young men to mentally understand the consequences of bad behaviors. Their thinking straightens out and their inappropriate behavior is replaced with character and integrity. Master’s Ranch gives boys a reason to succeed.

Academic Training for Boys from Virginia

ranch for troubled boysWe have qualified teachers on staff who offer instruction and one-on-one tutoring attention to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we focus on both ends of the academic spectrum. The flexible curriculum allows students who may be having difficulty with certain courses to accomplish them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are scheduled for those who excel academically and wish to get ahead.

Our boarding academy operates year-round, to keep students engaged and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. During normal summer break we run a shortened academic schedule to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.

Troubled Boys from Virginia Learn from Vocational Training

boys ranch and homeAfter the boys are at the ranch for a time, they have opportunities for vocational experience in the local economy. It allows them to try out their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dime they earn is put into a fund that they withdraw when they go home. The ranch itself also offers some vocational opportunities for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys are trained marketable skills and a real sense of accomplishment from these opportunities.

A Place Where Spiritual Training Leads to Improved Behaviors in Troubled Boys

Students take part in daily devotions and weekly church services, so they have opportunities to ask questions about life and discover a relationship with Jesus. We provide pastoral counseling and life-on-life mentoring and spiritual guidance.

Help finding troubled teen boarding schools and ranches for boys in Virginia:

Virginia is a U.S. state on the Atlantic Coast of the Southern United States. Virginia is nicknamed the “Old Dominion” and sometimes the “Mother of Presidents” after the eight U.S. presidents born there. The geography and climate of the Commonwealth are shaped by the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Chesapeake Bay, which provide habitat for much of its flora and fauna. The capital of the Commonwealth is Richmond; Virginia Beach is the most populous city and Fairfax County the most populous political subdivision. The Commonwealth’s population is over eight million.
The area’s history begins with several indigenous groups, including the Powhatan. In 1607 the London Company established the Colony of Virginia as the first permanent New World English colony. Slave labor and the land acquired from displaced Native American tribes each played a significant role in the colony’s early politics and plantation economy. Virginia was one of the 13 Colonies in the American Revolution and joined the Confederacy in the American Civil War, during which Richmond was made the Confederate capital and Virginia’s northwestern counties separated to form the state of West Virginia. Although the Commonwealth was under conservative single party rule for nearly a century following Reconstruction, both major national parties are competitive in modern Virginia.
The Virginia General Assembly is the oldest legislature in the Western Hemisphere. The state government has been repeatedly ranked most effective by the Pew Center on the States. It is unique in how it treats cities and counties equally, manages local roads, and prohibits its governors from serving consecutive terms. Virginia’s economy has many sectors: agriculture in the Shenandoah Valley; federal agencies in Northern Virginia, including the headquarters of the Department of Defense and CIA; and military facilities in Hampton Roads, the site of the region’s main seaport. Virginia’s public schools and many colleges and universities have contributed to growing media and technology sectors. As a result, computer chips have become the state’s leading export.
