Troubled Teen Boarding Schools for Boys in North Dakota May Not Have What Master’s Ranch in Missouri Has

Even though this troubled teen boarding school is not located in North Dakota, Master’s Ranch in Missouri may be exactly what that can help your boy if he’s getting in trouble and have gotten off track in life.

Master's Ranch Christian AcademyWe are a boarding school for troubled teenage boys, helping boys from North Dakota. Although our facility is found in rural Missouri, instead of in North Dakota, we would love the chance to tell you about our affordable program.

If your son has started down a road to disaster, he could use someone trustworthy who will listen to him and guide him without judgment. We provide counseling throughout the week, both individual and also in a group setting. Throughout each boy’s stay, we engage them constantly as someone they can talk to freely, making therapy non-threatening and ongoing in a more natural environment. We maintain a watchful eye, especially in the early days, but we do so while surrounding them with loving care and encouraging them toward a personal relationship with God. We operate like a family, caring for these boys through their struggles and walking through the days alongside them, coaching and training them.

Master’s Ranch is Designed to Provide Boys from North Dakota a New Direction in Life

Parents bring their boys, age 12-17, to Master’s Ranch after learning that the’ve begin to get in trouble and headed on a downward spiral which cannot be stopped by counseling alone.

Boys from North Dakota come to our boarding school to live in a disciplined environment, learning obedience and personal responsibility through a renewed focus on faith, caring for themselves and their future, and through caring for the animals on our ranch. We treat education as a privilege, and we teach boys to view it in the same way.

Troubled Boys spend a lot of their weekends and free time camping, playing sports, and just learning how to have good clean fun again.

Physical Training in our Troubled Teen Boarding School

Master's Ranch Christian AcademyWe start with physical exercise with the goal of bringing boys up to a standard level of fitness. They develop muscle, their self-esteem improves, and they experience something positive as they begin to see progress in their fitness goals. Those achievements carry over into other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in school, their positive experiences build confidence so that boys are built up.

Helping Boys Begin Thinking About Appropriate Boundaries

Master’s Ranch Christian Academy goes beyond traditional boarding schools in that it helps boys to mentally come to terms with the ramifications of bad choices. Their thinking clears and their destructive behavior disappears, replaced with character and integrity. Teens at Master’s Ranch have a reason to succeed.

Academic Training for Boys from North Dakota

ranch for troubled boysWe have excellent teachers on staff who offer instruction and one-on-one tutoring attention to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we focus on both ends of the academic spectrum. The flexible curriculum allows students who may be having difficulty with certain courses to accomplish them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are scheduled for those who succeed academically and wish to get ahead.

Our boarding academy operates year-round, to keep students engaged and to give them the chance to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. During normal summer break we run a half-day academic schedule to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.

Troubled Boys from North Dakota Learn from Vocational Training

boys ranch and homeAfter the boys are at the ranch for a time, they have a chance for vocational experience in the local economy. It allows them to exercise their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dime they earn is put into an account that they withdraw when they leave. The ranch itself also offers some industries for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys gain marketable skills and self-confidence from these endeavors.

More about troubled teen boarding schools and ranches for boys in North Dakota:

North Dakota is a state located in the Midwestern region of the United States of America, along the Canadian border. The state is bordered by Canada to the north, Minnesota to the east, South Dakota to the south and Montana to the west. North Dakota is the 19th most extensive, but the 3rd least populous and the 4th least densely populated of the 50 United States. North Dakota was created from the northern portion of the Dakota Territory and admitted to the Union on November 2, 1889, simultaneously with South Dakota.
The state capital is Bismarck and the largest city is Fargo. The primary public universities are located in Grand Forks and Fargo. The U.S. Air Force operates air bases at Minot AFB and Grand Forks AFB.
For more than a decade, the state has had a strong economy, with unemployment lower than the national average, job and population growth, and low housing vacancies. Much of the growth has been based on development of the Bakken oil shale fields in the western part of the state, but it has also had growth in the technology and service sectors. Flooding in June 2011 has caused extensive damage to Minot and threatened Bismarck, the capital city.
