If your son has gotten off track, he could use someone trustworthy who will listen to him and guide him without judgment. We provide counseling throughout the week, both individual and also group counseling sessions. Throughout each boy’s stay, we engage them constantly as someone they can talk to freely, making therapy non-threatening and ongoing in a more natural environment. We maintain a watchful eye, especially in the early days, but we do so while surrounding them with loving care and encouraging them toward a personal relationship with God. We run like a family, loving these boys no matter what and walking through the days right with them, coaching and instructing them.

Parents bring their boys, age 12-17, to Master’s Ranch after learning that the’ve begin to get in trouble and headed on a downward spiral that cannot be helped by counseling alone.
Boys from North Carolina come to our boarding school to live in a structured environment, learning obedience and personal responsibility through a renewed focus on faith, caring for themselves and their future, and through caring for the animals on our ranch. We value education as a privilege, and we teach boys to look at it in the same way.
Troubled Boys spend a great deal of their weekends and free time camping, playing sports, and generally learning how to have wholesome fun again.
We start right away with physical training with the goal of bringing boys up to a basic level of fitness. They develop strength, they have a reason to feel good about themselves, and they gain something positive as they begin to see progress in their fitness goals. Those achievements carry over into other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in school, their accomplishments develop confidence so that boys are built up.
Helping Boys Understand Boundaries
MRCA goes beyond traditional boarding schools in that it helps boys to mentally understand the results of bad actions. Their thinking straightens out and their inappropriate behavior is replaced with character and integrity. At Master’s Ranch, we give boys every opportunity to be successful.
Academic Training for Boys from North Carolina
We have excellent teachers on our personnel who provide instruction and one-on-one tutoring attention to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accomplish both ends of the academic spectrum. The self-paced curriculum allows students who may be having difficulty with certain subjects to accomplish them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are scheduled for those who succeed academically and wish to get ahead.
Our residential academic program operates year-round, to keep students engaged and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. During the summers we run a half-day academic regimen to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
Troubled Boys from North Carolina Learn from Vocational Training
Boys who have improved their actions and have become trustworthy are given opportunities for vocational experience in the local economy. It allows them to try out their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dime they earn is put into a fund that they take home with them when they leave. The ranch itself also offers some industries for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys are trained marketable skills and a real sense of accomplishment from these opportunities.
Where Spiritual Training Leads to Improved Behaviors in Troubled Boys
Residents participate in daily devotions and weekly church services, so they have the chance to ask questions about God and discover a relationship with Jesus. We offer biblical counseling and life-on-life mentorship and spiritual direction.
