Families in San Luis Obispo, California Choose Master’s Ranch for Their Teens Who Need a New Start in Life
Master’s Ranch is a new home for adolescent boys who need proper direction to make a new start for themselves. The therapeutic program focuses on the value of work, taught through animal husbandry, regular chores in the dorms and kitchen, and an extensive vocational program. Boys live in a disciplined environment, learning obedience and personal responsibility. We treat education as a privilege, and we teach boys to look at it the same way.
We begin with physical exercise with the goal of bringing boys up to a minimum level of fitness. They build muscle, their self-respect improves, and they experience a positive achievement as they begin to see progress in their fitness goals. Those achievements carry over into other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in school, their achievements develop confidence so that boys are built up. Meanwhile, we help boys come to terms with the results of their past choices. Their thinking straightens out and their inappropriate behavior disappears, replaced with character and integrity.Teens at Master’s Ranch have a reason to succeed.

Many of our boys adopt the directors at Master’s Ranch, as their second parents and a large number come back to work on the ranch or to spend time with us. We have a lot of fun on the ranch, as well. Students spend a lot of time hunting, playing sports, and just learning how to have healthy fun again.
