Healing Your Son with Attention Deficit Disorder
We treat boys struggling with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), a behavior pattern seen as the lack of ability to stay on task, with trouble in controlling emotions and staying still, when compared with the general population. This behavior can get in the way of his ability to finish his work, and function successfully in society.
If he is easily sidetracked, has poor organizational skills or jumps from one incomplete assignment to another, he may well be facing the problems of Attention Deficit Disorder.
Precise causes of ADD (also known as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder/ADHD) are unknown but studies show some association with heredity, nutrition and environment.
About Attention Deficit Disorder
Attention Deficit Disorder is one of the most oft- diagnosed problems among teenaged boys today and it is imperative to identify this Disorder properly, as certain other conditions (i.e.: anxiety, sleep or thyroid problems, depression, unforeseen life change) can closely mimic ADHD-like behaviors
Because of the great level of distraction with ADD leading to poor academic performance and low self-esteem, a large percentage of boys with it will fail to finish high school. While he may not completely outgrow his symptoms, your boy can certainly learn strategies for success.
You don’t want ADHD to control his life!
Master’s Ranch – A Special Place for Your Son with ADD or ADHD
Master’s Ranch brings restoration and healing of families and their teens, our ranch-style residential program for troubled boys uses a family-style model with a strong emphasis on work and discipline. We keep the boys busy and moving all day long. Boys live on a fully operational farm and are taught responsibility by caring for horses, cattle, pigs and dogs. We give particular attention to using animals in anger management and for healing problems with emotional attachment. Your boy will sleep well at night, and problems with ADD fade away.
The Master’s Ranch program is heavily occupational in nature. In addition to the animal husbandry skills he will learn on the ranch, your son will work with craftsmen in wood, metal, cement, plumbing and electrical construction.
Our computer-based academic curriculum is nationally accredited, enabling students with ADD or ADHD to finish much of their elective requirements for high school, with traditional classroom instruction, remedial assistance, advanced, college-prep coursework all available, as well as a vocational diploma.
We offer your boy with attention deficit disorder (ADD) professional clinical-type counseling from licensed therapists in pastoral, group and individual sessions. We use an informal approach to counseling, in which the outdoors setting encourages active boys to open up and share more readily.
If you’ve almost lost hope and are fighting for your son’s future, consider our small family environment in an agricultural setting, where training is balanced with an unmistakable atmosphere of mentoring, love and acceptance.
