Throughout each boy’s stay, we engage them constantly as a friend they can talk to freely, making therapy non-threatening and ongoing in a more natural environment. We maintain a watchful eye, especially in the early days, but we do so while surrounding them with loving care and encouraging them toward a personal relationship with God. We work like a family, loving these boys no matter what and walking through the days right with them, coaching and leading them.

Boys spend a lot of their weekends and free time outdoors, playing sports, and generally learning how to have wholesome fun again.

Physical Training

Master's Ranch Christian AcademyWe start right away with physical training with the goal of bringing boys up to a minimum level of fitness. They build strength, they feel good about themselves, and they gain a positive achievement as they begin to see progress in their fitness goals. The same concepts also work well in other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in academics, their achievements build confidence so that boys are built up.

Mental Training

Master’s Ranch Christian Academy goes beyond trqditional boarding schools in that it helps boys to mentally realize the ramifications of bad behaviors. Their thinking clears and their inappropriate behavior disappears, replaced with character and integrity. Master’s Ranch gives boys a reason to succeed.

Academic Training

ranch for reforming boysWe have certified teachers on our personnel who provide instruction and one-on-one tutoring assistance to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accommodate both ends of the academic spectrum. The self-paced curriculum allows students who may be having difficulty with certain subjects to accomplish them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are ready for those who succeed academically and wish to get ahead.

Our boarding school operates year-round, to keep students involved and to give them the chance to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. All summer we run a shortened academic schedule to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.

Vocational Training

boys ranch and homeAfter the boys are at the ranch for a time, they have a chance for vocational experience in the local economy. It allows them to try out their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. The wage they earn is put into an account that they withdraw when they leave.  The ranch itself also offers some vocational opportunities for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys are trained marketable skills and a real sense of accomplishment from these opportunities.

Spiritual Training

Boys take part in regular devotions and weekly church services, so they have opportunities to ask questions about God and experience a relationship with Jesus.  We provide group and individual counseling and ongoing mentoring and spiritual direction.
