Residents spend a great deal of their free time outdoors, playing sports, and just learning how to have good clean fun again.
Physical Training
We start right away with physical exercise to bring boys up to a minimum level of fitness. They build muscle, their self-esteem improves, and they gain a positive achievement as they begin to meet fitness goals. The same concepts also work well in other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in academics, their positive experiences bolster confidence so that boys are built up.
Mental Training
Master’s Ranch Christian Academy goes beyond trqditional boarding schools in that it helps boys to mentally come to terms with the results of bad actions. Their thinking clears and their destructive behavior turns into character and integrity. At Master’s Ranch, we give boys every opportunity to be successful.
Academic Training
We have certified teachers on staff who offer instruction and one-on-one tutoring assistance to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accomplish both ends of the academic spectrum. The flexible curriculum allows students who may be having difficulty with certain courses to accomplish them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are ready for those who succeed academically and wish to get ahead.
Our boarding academy operates year-round, to keep students involved and to give them the chance to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. During normal summer break we run a half-day academic regimen to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
Vocational Training
After the boys are at the ranch for a time, they have a chance for vocational experience in the local economy. It allows them to try out their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dollar they earn is put into an account that they withdraw when they go home. The ranch itself also provides some vocational opportunities for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys are trained marketable skills and a real sense of accomplishment from these endeavors.
Spiritual Training
Students take part in regular devotions and weekly church services, so they have the chance to ask questions about God and choose a relationship with Jesus. We give biblical counseling and life-on-life mentoring and spiritual guidance.
