Physical Training
We start with physical exercise with the goal of bringing boys up to a basic level of fitness. They build muscle, their self-esteem improves, and they experience something positive as they begin to see progress in their fitness goals. The same concepts also work well in other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in school, their achievements build confidence so that boys are built up.
Mental Training
Master’s Ranch Christian Academy goes beyond trqditional boarding schools in that it helps young men to mentally realize the ramifications of bad behaviors. Their thinking clears and their inappropriate behavior is replaced with character and integrity. Teens at Master’s Ranch have a reason to succeed.
Academic Training
We have excellent teachers on staff who provide instruction and one-on-one tutoring attention to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we focus on both ends of the academic spectrum. The flexible curriculum allows students who may be struggling with certain courses to master them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are scheduled for those who excel academically and desire to get ahead.
Our residential academic program operates year-round, to keep students engaged and to give them the chance to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. All summer we run a partial academic schedule to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
After the boys are at the ranch for a time, they have opportunities for work experience in the local economy. It allows them to exercise their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dollar they earn is put into an account that they withdraw when they leave. The ranch itself also offers some industries for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys gain marketable skills and a real sense of accomplishment from these opportunities.
Spiritual Training
Teens have access to daily devotions and weekly church services, so they have opportunities to ask questions about life and experience a relationship with Jesus. We give group and individual counseling and life-on-life mentorship and spiritual guidance.
