If your needs someone to confide in who will listen to him and guide him without judgment, we are here to help. We provide counseling throughout the week, both individual and also in a group setting.

Throughout each boy’s stay, we engage them constantly as a friend they can talk to freely, making our counsel non-threatening and ongoing and in a more natural environment. We maintain close supervision, especially in the early days, but we do so while giving them loving care and encouraging them toward a personal relationship with God. We run like a family, loving these boys through their struggles and walking through the days alongside them, coaching and leading them.

Master’s Ranch is a new home for teenage boys from other states like Virginia, who need proper direction to make a new start for themselves. Parents enroll their young men, age 12-17, to Master’s Ranch after learning that they’ve begun to get in trouble and headed on a downward spiral which cannot be stopped by counseling alone.

Boys at Master’s Ranch Christian Academy spend a lot of their free time camping, playing sports, and just learning how to enjoy wholesome fun again. They are brought to our boarding school to live in a disciplined environment, learning respect for authority and personal responsibility through a renewed focus on faith, caring for themselves and their future, and through caring for the animals on our ranch. We view education as a privilege, and we teach boys to look at it in the same way.

Adventure and Physical Outlets are Important in our Boarding School for Boys

We start with physical exercise to bring boys up to a standard level of fitness. They gain muscle, their self-esteem improves, and they gain a positive achievement as they begin to meet fitness goals. Those achievements carry over into other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in school, their positive experiences develop confidence so that boys are built up.

Academic Training for Boys from Virginia

We have certified teachers on staff who provide instruction and one-on-one tutoring attention to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accommodate both ends of the academic spectrum. The self-paced curriculum allows students who may be having difficulty with certain subjects to accomplish them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are ready for those who succeed academically and wish to get ahead.

Our residential academic program operates year-round, to keep students engaged and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. During normal summer break we run a half-day academic schedule to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.

Helping Boys Begin Thinking About Appropriate Boundaries

Master’s Ranch Christian Academy goes beyond traditional boarding schools in that it helps young men to mentally comprehend the ramifications of bad actions. Their thinking clears and their destructive behavior is replaced with character and integrity. At Master’s Ranch, we give boys every opportunity to be successful.

After the boys are at the ranch for a time, they have a chance for work experience in select businesses nearby. It allows them to exercise their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dime they earn is put into a fund that they withdraw when they leave. The ranch itself also provides some vocational opportunities for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys gain marketable skills and a real sense of accomplishment from these opportunities.

Where Spiritual Training Leads to Improved Behaviors in Boys

Boys participate in daily devotions and weekly church services, so they have the chance to ask questions about God and choose a relationship with Jesus. We give group and individual counseling and life-on-life mentoring and spiritual direction.

More about boarding schools  for boys in Virginia:

Virginia is a U.S. state on the Atlantic Coast of the Southern United States. Virginia is nicknamed the “Old Dominion” and sometimes the “Mother of Presidents” after the eight U.S. presidents born there. The geography and climate of the Commonwealth are shaped by the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Chesapeake Bay, which provide habitat for much of its flora and fauna. The capital of the Commonwealth is Richmond; Virginia Beach is the most populous city and Fairfax County the most populous political subdivision. The Commonwealth’s population is over eight million.
The area’s history begins with several indigenous groups, including the Powhatan. In 1607 the London Company established the Colony of Virginia as the first permanent New World English colony. Slave labor and the land acquired from displaced Native American tribes each played a significant role in the colony’s early politics and plantation economy. Virginia was one of the 13 Colonies in the American Revolution and joined the Confederacy in the American Civil War, during which Richmond was made the Confederate capital and Virginia’s northwestern counties separated to form the state of West Virginia. Although the Commonwealth was under conservative single party rule for nearly a century following Reconstruction, both major national parties are competitive in modern Virginia.
The Virginia General Assembly is the oldest legislature in the Western Hemisphere. The state government has been repeatedly ranked most effective by the Pew Center on the States. It is unique in how it treats cities and counties equally, manages local roads, and prohibits its governors from serving consecutive terms. Virginia’s economy has many sectors: agriculture in the Shenandoah Valley; federal agencies in Northern Virginia, including the headquarters of the Department of Defense and CIA; and military facilities in Hampton Roads, the site of the region’s main seaport. Virginia’s public schools and many colleges and universities have contributed to growing media and technology sectors. As a result, computer chips have become the state’s leading export.
