Physical Training
We start with physical exercise with the goal of bringing boys up to a standard level of fitness. They develop strength, they have a reason to feel good about themselves, and they experience a positive achievement as they begin to see progress in their fitness goals. Those achievements carry over into other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in school, their accomplishments bolster confidence so that boys are built up.
Mental Training
Master’s Ranch Christian Academy goes beyond trqditional boarding schools in that it helps boys to mentally realize the consequences of bad behaviors. Their thinking clears and their destructive behavior is replaced with character and integrity. Master’s Ranch gives boys a reason to succeed.
Academic Training
We have excellent teachers on our personnel who offer instruction and one-on-one tutoring assistance to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accommodate both ends of the academic spectrum. The self-paced curriculum allows students who may be struggling with certain courses to master them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are scheduled for those who excel academically and wish to get ahead.
Our boarding school operates year-round, to keep students involved and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. All summer we run a half-day academic schedule to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
Vocational Training
Boys who have improved their actions and have become trustworthy are given opportunities for work experience in the local economy. It allows them to exercise their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dollar they earn is put into an account that they take home with them when they leave. The ranch itself also provides some vocational opportunities for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys gain marketable skills and self-confidence from these endeavors.
Spiritual Training
Students take part in daily devotions and weekly church services, so they have the chance to ask questions about life and choose a relationship with Jesus. We provide biblical counseling and person-to-person mentorship and spiritual direction.
