After the boys are at the ranch for a time, they have opportunities for work experience in select businesses nearby. It allows them to try out their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dollar they earn is put into an account that they take home with them when they go home. The ranch itself also offers some vocational opportunities for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming.
