If your could use someone to confide in who will hear him and speak truth to him without judgment, we are here to help. We provide counseling throughout the week, both individual and also group counseling sessions.

Throughout each boy’s stay, we engage them constantly as a friend they can talk to freely, making our counsel non-threatening and ongoing and in a more natural environment. We maintain a watchful eye, especially at the start, but we do so while surrounding them with loving care and encouraging them toward a personal relationship with God. We are set up like a family, loving these boys unconditionally and walking through the days alongside them, coaching and teaching them.

DSCN0609With a Mission to Offer Boys from Tennessee a New Start in Life

Master’s Ranch is a new home for teenage boys from other states like Tennessee, who need proper direction to change the course of their lives. Parents bring their boys, age 12-17, to Master’s Ranch after seeing them begin to get in trouble and headed on a downward spiral which cannot be stopped by counseling alone.

Boys at Master’s Ranch Christian Academy spend a lot of their weekends and free time outdoors, playing sports, and just learning how to enjoy good clean fun again. They are brought to our boarding school to live in a disciplined environment, learning obedience and personal responsibility through a renewed focus on faith, caring for themselves and their future, and through caring for the animals on our ranch. We value education as a privilege, and we teach boys to look at it in the same way.

Adventure and Physical Outlets are Important in our Boarding School for Boys

We start right away with physical training with the goal of bringing boys up to a standard level of fitness. They develop strength, they have a reason to feel good about themselves, and they experience a positive achievement as they begin to meet fitness goals. Those achievements carry over into other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in school, their accomplishments develop confidence so that boys are built up.

Academic Training for Boys from Tennessee

We have qualified teachers on staff who offer instruction and one-on-one tutoring assistance to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accommodate both ends of the academic spectrum. The self-paced curriculum allows students who may be struggling with certain courses to accomplish them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are available for those who excel academically and desire to get ahead.

Our boarding academy operates year-round, to keep students engaged and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. During normal summer break we run a shortened academic regimen to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.

Helping Boys Begin Thinking About Appropriate Boundaries

Master’s Ranch Christian Academy goes beyond traditional boarding schools in that it helps boys to mentally realize the results of bad choices. Their thinking clears and their inappropriate behavior is replaced with character and integrity. At Master’s Ranch, we give boys every opportunity to be successful.

DSCN0488Troubled Boys from Tennessee Learn from Vocational Training

Boys who have improved their actions and have become trustworthy are given a chance for vocational experience in the local economy. It allows them to try out their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dollar they earn is put into a fund that they take home with them when they leave. The ranch itself also provides some vocational opportunities for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys gain marketable skills and self-confidence from these endeavors.

A Place Where Spiritual Training Leads to Improved Behaviors in Boys

Boys have access to regular devotions and weekly church services, so they have the chance to ask questions about life and experience a relationship with Jesus. We offer pastoral counseling and person-to-person mentoring and spiritual direction.

Tennessee (Lang-chr) is a U.S. state located in the Southeastern United States. Tennessee is the 36th most extensive and the 17th most populous of the 50 United States. Tennessee is bordered by Kentucky and Virginia to the north, North Carolina to the east, Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi to the south, and Arkansas and Missouri to the west. The Appalachian Mountains dominate the eastern part of the state, and the Mississippi River forms the state’s western border. Tennessee’s capital and second largest city is Nashville, which has a population of 626,144. Memphis is the state’s largest city, with a population of 670,902.
The state of Tennessee is rooted in the Watauga Association, a 1772 frontier pact generally regarded as the first constitutional government west of the Appalachians. What is now Tennessee was initially part of North Carolina, and later part of the Southwest Territory. Tennessee was admitted to the Union as the 16th state on June 1, 1796. Tennessee was the last state to leave the Union and join the Confederacy at the outbreak of the U.S. Civil War in 1861, and the first state to be readmitted to the Union at the end of the war.Tennessee’s Civil War Heritage Trail. Tennessee furnished more soldiers for the Confederate Army than any other state, and more soldiers for the Union Army than any other Southern state. Tennessee has seen some of the nation’s worst racial strife, from the formation of the Ku Klux Klan in Pulaski in 1866 to the assassination of Martin Luther King in Memphis in 1968. In the 20th century, Tennessee transitioned from an agrarian economy to a more diversified economy, aided at times by federal entities such as the Tennessee Valley Authority. In the early 1940s, Oak Ridge, Tennessee was established to house the Manhattan Project’s uranium enrichment facilities, helping to build the world’s first atomic bomb.
Tennessee has played a critical role in the development of rock and roll and early blues music. Beale Street in Memphis is considered by many to be the birthplace of the blues, with musicians such as W.C. Handy performing in its clubs as early as 1909. Memphis was also home to Sun Records, where musicians such as Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, and Charlie Rich began their recording careers, and where rock and roll took shape in the 1950s. The 1927 Victor recording sessions in Bristol generally mark the beginning of the country music genre,Charles Wolfe, Music. Tennessee Encyclopedia of History and Culture, 2002. Retrieved: 25 November 2009.] and the rise of the Grand Ole Opry in the 1930s helped make Nashville the center of the country music recording industry.
Tennessee’s major industries include agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism. Poultry, soybeans, and cattle are the state’s primary agricultural products, and major manufacturing exports include chemicals, transportation equipment, and electrical equipment. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the nation’s most visited national park, is headquartered in the eastern part of the state, and a section of the Appalachian Trail roughly follows the Tennessee-North Carolina border. Other major tourist attractions include Elvis Presley’s Graceland in Memphis and the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga.
