Physical Training
We start right away with physical exercise to bring boys up to a standard level of fitness. They develop muscle, they feel good about themselves, and they experience something positive as they begin to see progress in their fitness goals. The same concepts also work well in other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in school, their accomplishments develop confidence so that boys are built up.
Mental Training
MRCA goes beyond trqditional boarding schools in that it helps boys to mentally come to terms with the consequences of bad choices. Their thinking clears and their inappropriate behavior is replaced with character and integrity. Master’s Ranch gives boys a reason to succeed.
Academic Training
We have certified teachers on our personnel who offer instruction and one-on-one tutoring attention to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accomplish both ends of the academic spectrum. The self-paced curriculum allows students who may be having difficulty with certain subjects to master them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are scheduled for those who excel academically and wish to get ahead.
Our boarding school operates year-round, to keep students engaged and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. All summer we run a shortened academic schedule to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
After the boys are at the ranch for a time, they have opportunities for vocational experience in select businesses nearby. It allows them to try out their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dollar they earn is put into a fund that they withdraw when they leave. The ranch itself also provides some vocational opportunities for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys gain marketable skills and self-confidence from these opportunities.
Spiritual Training
Teens take part in daily devotions and weekly church services, so they have the chance to ask questions about God and choose a relationship with Jesus. We provide pastoral counseling and life-on-life mentorship and spiritual guidance.
