Boys spend a lot of their free time hunting, playing sports, and generally learning how to enjoy good clean fun again.
Physical Training
We start right away with physical exercise to bring boys up to a standard level of fitness. They develop muscle, they have a reason to feel good about themselves, and they experience something positive as they begin to see progress in their fitness goals. The same concepts also work well in other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in their education, their positive experiences bolster confidence so that boys are built up.
Mental Training
Master’s Ranch Christian Academy goes beyond trqditional boarding schools in that it helps boys to mentally realize the results of bad choices. Their thinking straightens out and their destructive behavior turns into character and integrity. Teens at Master’s Ranch have a reason to succeed.
Academic Training
We have excellent teachers on our personnel who offer instruction and one-on-one tutoring assistance to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accommodate both ends of the academic spectrum. The flexible curriculum allows students who may be having difficulty with certain subjects to accomplish them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are scheduled for those who excel academically and desire to get ahead.
Our boarding school operates year-round, to keep students engaged and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. All summer we run a partial academic schedule to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
Boys who have improved their actions and have become trustworthy are given opportunities for work experience in select businesses nearby. It allows them to exercise their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dime they earn is put into an account that they take home with them when they leave. The ranch itself also provides some vocational opportunities for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys are trained marketable skills and a real sense of accomplishment from these endeavors.
Spiritual Training
Teens take part in daily devotions and weekly church services, so they have the chance to ask questions about life and choose a relationship with Jesus. We give group and individual counseling and ongoing mentorship and spiritual direction.
