We provide counseling throughout the week, both individual and also in a group setting. Throughout each boy’s stay, we engage them constantly as a friend they can talk to freely, making therapy non-threatening and ongoing in a more natural environment. We maintain a watchful eye, especially in the early days, but we do so while surrounding them with loving care and inspiring them toward a personal relationship with God. We operate like a family, caring for these boys through their struggles and going through the days right with them, coaching and training them.

Physical Training

Master's Ranch Christian AcademyWe begin with physical training with the goal of bringing boys up to a basic level of fitness. They develop strength, they have a reason to feel good about themselves, and they gain something positive as they begin to see progress in their fitness goals. The same concepts also work well in other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in school, their accomplishments develop confidence so that boys are built up.

Mental Training

MRCA goes beyond trqditional boarding schools in that it helps boys to mentally come to terms with the ramifications of bad actions. Their thinking clears and their inappropriate behavior disappears, replaced with character and integrity. At Master’s Ranch, we give boys every opportunity to be successful.

Academic Training

ranch for reforming boysWe have certified teachers on staff who offer instruction and one-on-one tutoring attention to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we focus on both ends of the academic spectrum. The self-paced curriculum allows students who may be having difficulty with certain courses to accomplish them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are scheduled for those who succeed academically and desire to get ahead.

Our boarding school operates year-round, to keep students engaged and to give them the chance to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. All summer we run a half-day academic regimen to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.

Vocational Training

boys ranch and homeBoys who have improved their actions and have become trustworthy are given opportunities for vocational experience in the local economy. It allows them to exercise their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dime they earn is put into an account that they take home with them when they leave.  The ranch itself also provides some vocational opportunities for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys gain marketable skills and a real sense of accomplishment from these endeavors.

Spiritual Training

Boys participate in daily devotions and weekly church services, so they have opportunities to ask questions about life and experience a relationship with Jesus.  We provide biblical counseling and ongoing mentoring and spiritual direction.
