Students spend a great deal of their weekends and free time hunting, playing sports, and generally learning how to enjoy good clean fun again.
Physical Training
We begin with physical exercise to bring boys up to a basic level of fitness. They build muscle, they have a reason to feel good about themselves, and they experience a positive achievement as they begin to see progress in their fitness goals. Those achievements carry over into other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in academics, their accomplishments build confidence so that boys are built up.
Mental Training
MRCA goes beyond trqditional boarding schools in that it helps young men to mentally understand the ramifications of bad actions. Their thinking clears and their destructive behavior is replaced with character and integrity. Teens at Master’s Ranch have a reason to succeed.
Academic Training
We have certified teachers on staff who offer instruction and one-on-one tutoring assistance to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we focus on both ends of the academic spectrum. The self-paced curriculum allows students who may be having difficulty with certain subjects to master them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are scheduled for those who excel academically and desire to get ahead.
Our boarding school operates year-round, to keep students involved and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. All summer we run a half-day academic regimen to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
After the boys are at the ranch for a time, they have opportunities for work experience in select businesses nearby. It allows them to exercise their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. The wage they earn is put into an account that they withdraw when they go home. The ranch itself also provides some vocational opportunities for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys are trained marketable skills and a real sense of accomplishment from these endeavors.
Spiritual Training
Students participate in daily devotions and weekly church services, so they have the chance to ask questions about God and discover a relationship with Jesus. We provide pastoral counseling and life-on-life mentoring and spiritual guidance.
