Master’s Ranch is a second home for adolescent boys from places like South Holland, Illinois, who need proper direction to make a new start for themselves.  Parents enroll their  young men, age 12-17, to Master’s Ranch after seeing them begin a downward spiral which cannot be stopped by counseling alone. 

Boys from  South Holland, Illinois come to our boarding school to live in a structured environment, learning obedience and personal responsibility through a renewed focus on faith, caring for themselves and their future, and through caring for the animals on our ranch. We value education as a privilege, and we teach boys to look at it in the same way.

Students spend a lot of their free time outdoors, playing sports, and generally learning how to enjoy good clean fun again.

Physical Training

We start with physical exercise with the goal of bringing boys up to a standard level of fitness. They develop muscle, they have a reason to feel good about themselves, and they gain something positive as they begin to meet fitness goals. The same concepts also work well in other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in school, their achievements build confidence so that boys are built up.

Mental Training

Academic Training

We have qualified teachers on our personnel who provide instruction and one-on-one tutoring assistance to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accommodate both ends of the academic spectrum. The flexible curriculum allows students who may be having difficulty with certain subjects to master them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are ready for those who excel academically and desire to get ahead.

Our residential academic program operates year-round, to keep students engaged and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. During normal summer break we run a half-day academic schedule to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.

Vocational Training

After the boys are at the ranch for a time, they have a chance for vocational experience in the local economy. It allows them to try out their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dime they earn is put into an account that they take home with them when they go home.  The ranch itself also offers some vocational opportunities for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys gain marketable skills and a real sense of accomplishment from these endeavors.

Spiritual Training

Teens participate in daily devotions and weekly church services, so they have opportunities to ask questions about God and discover a relationship with Jesus.  We give group and individual counseling and life-on-life mentorship and spiritual guidance.
