We provide counseling throughout the week, both individual and also in a group setting. Throughout each boy’s stay, we engage them constantly as someone they can talk to freely, making therapy non-threatening and ongoing in a more natural environment. We maintain a watchful eye, especially in the early days, but we do so while giving them loving care and inspiring them toward a personal relationship with God. We run like a family, caring for these boys through their struggles and going through the days next to them, coaching and training them.

Physical Training

Master's Ranch Christian AcademyWe begin with physical training with the goal of bringing boys up to a basic level of fitness. They gain strength, their self-esteem improves, and they experience a positive achievement as they begin to meet fitness goals. The same concepts also work well in other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in academics, their accomplishments bolster confidence so that boys are built up.

Mental Training

Master’s Ranch Christian Academy goes beyond trqditional boarding schools in that it helps boys to mentally comprehend the results of bad choices. Their thinking straightens out and their destructive behavior turns into character and integrity. At Master’s Ranch, we give boys every opportunity to be successful.

Academic Training

ranch for reforming boysWe have certified teachers on staff who provide instruction and one-on-one tutoring assistance to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accomplish both ends of the academic spectrum. The flexible curriculum allows students who may be having difficulty with certain subjects to accomplish them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are available for those who succeed academically and wish to get ahead.

Our boarding academy operates year-round, to keep students engaged and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. All summer we run a partial academic schedule to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.

Vocational Training

boys ranch and homeAfter the boys are at the ranch for a time, they have opportunities for work experience in select businesses nearby. It allows them to try out their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dollar they earn is put into an account that they withdraw when they leave.  The ranch itself also offers some vocational opportunities for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys gain marketable skills and a real sense of accomplishment from these opportunities.

Spiritual Training

Students have access to daily devotions and weekly church services, so they have opportunities to ask questions about life and choose a relationship with Jesus.  We offer pastoral counseling and life-on-life mentoring and spiritual direction.
