If your son has been getting into trouble, he needs someone to confide in who will hear him and speak truth to him without judgment. We provide counseling throughout the week, both one-on-one and also group counseling sessions. Throughout each boy’s stay, we engage them constantly as a friend they can talk to freely, making therapy non-threatening and ongoing in a more natural environment. We maintain a watchful eye, especially in the early days, but we do so while surrounding them with loving care and encouraging them toward a personal relationship with God. We operate like a family, caring for these boys unconditionally and walking through the days next to them, coaching and training them.

Boys spend a great deal of their free time camping, playing sports, and just learning how to have healthy fun again.

Physical Training

Master's Ranch Christian AcademyWe start with physical exercise with the goal of bringing boys up to a minimum level of fitness. They build muscle, their self-esteem improves, and they gain something positive as they begin to meet fitness goals. The same concepts also work well in other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in school, their positive experiences bolster confidence so that boys are built up.

Mental Training

MRCA goes beyond trqditional boarding schools in that it helps young men to mentally come to terms with the consequences of bad choices. Their thinking straightens out and their destructive behavior turns into character and integrity. Teens at Master’s Ranch have a reason to succeed.

Academic Training

ranch for reforming boysWe have qualified teachers on our personnel who offer instruction and one-on-one tutoring assistance to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accommodate both ends of the academic spectrum. The self-paced curriculum allows students who may be struggling with certain courses to master them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are available for those who excel academically and wish to get ahead.

Our boarding school operates year-round, to keep students engaged and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. During normal summer break we run a partial academic schedule to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.

Vocational Training

boys ranch and homeAfter the boys are at the ranch for a time, they have opportunities for work experience in select businesses nearby. It allows them to exercise their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dollar they earn is put into an account that they take home with them when they leave.  The ranch itself also provides some industries for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys are trained marketable skills and a real sense of accomplishment from these endeavors.

Spiritual Training

Teens take part in regular devotions and weekly church services, so they have the chance to ask questions about life and discover a relationship with Jesus.  We offer biblical counseling and life-on-life mentoring and spiritual guidance.

More about boarding schools and ranches for boys in Saint Cloud, Minnesota:

St. Cloud is a city in the U.S. state of Minnesota and the largest population center in the state’s central region. The population was 65,842 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Stearns CountyGR. It is named after the city of Saint-Cloud, France (in le-de-France, near Paris), which was named for the 6th-century French monk Clodoald.
Though mostly in Stearns County, the city also extends into Benton County and Sherburne County. One of the fastest-growing areas in the state, St. Cloud is surrounded by a small metropolitan area, with Waite Park, Sauk Rapids, Sartell, and St. Augusta directly bordering the city, and Foley, Rice, Kimball, Clearwater, Clear Lake, Rockville, St. Joseph, and Cold Spring nearby. With 189,093 residents at the 2010 census, the St. Cloud metropolitan area is the third-largest Minnesota population center, behind Minneapolis-St. Paul and Duluth-Superior, and slightly ahead of Rochester (with 186,011 residents). The population of Fargo-Moorhead is also larger than St. Cloud’s or Rochester’s, but most of that is in North Dakota, with only 58,999 residents in Minnesota.
St. Cloud is located Convert northwest of the “Twin Cities” of Minneapolis-St. Paul along Interstate 94, U.S. Route 10, and Minnesota State Highway 23. The St. Cloud Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) is made up of Stearns and Benton Counties. The city was included in a newly defined Minneapolis-St. Paul-St. Cloud Combined Statistical Area (CSA) in 2000, even though commuting criteria did not require mandatory inclusion. St. Cloud as a whole has never been part of the 13-county MSA comprising Minneapolis, St. Paul, Bloomington, and parts of western Wisconsin, although its Sherburne County portion is considered part of the Twin Cities metropolitan area by Census Bureau definition.
The Mississippi River flows through the city, which owns and operates a hydroelectric dam that can produce up to 9 megawatts of electricity. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources designated a Convert section of the Mississippi south of St. Cloud part of Minnesota’s Wild & Scenic Rivers Program in 1976. It has the 30 undeveloped “Beaver Islands”, multiple channels and sandbars, and no major rapids, and is popular for day trips by canoe.
