Students spend a lot of their weekends and free time outdoors, playing sports, and just learning how to enjoy healthy fun again.
Physical Training
We begin with physical training to bring boys up to a standard level of fitness. They gain strength, they feel good about themselves, and they experience something positive as they begin to meet fitness goals. Those achievements carry over into other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in academics, their positive experiences bolster confidence so that boys are built up.
Mental Training
MRCA goes beyond trqditional boarding schools in that it helps boys to mentally comprehend the results of bad choices. Their thinking clears and their destructive behavior turns into character and integrity. Master’s Ranch gives boys a reason to succeed.
Academic Training
We have certified teachers on staff who offer instruction and one-on-one tutoring attention to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accommodate both ends of the academic spectrum. The flexible curriculum allows students who may be having difficulty with certain subjects to master them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are scheduled for those who excel academically and desire to get ahead.
Our boarding school operates year-round, to keep students engaged and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. During the summers we run a half-day academic regimen to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
Boys who have improved their actions and have become trustworthy are given a chance for work experience in the local economy. It allows them to exercise their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dime they earn is put into a fund that they take home with them when they leave. The ranch itself also offers some industries for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys are trained marketable skills and self-confidence from these opportunities.
Spiritual Training
Students take part in daily devotions and weekly church services, so they have opportunities to ask questions about God and discover a relationship with Jesus. We give biblical counseling and person-to-person mentorship and spiritual guidance.
