If your could use someone to confide in who will hear him and speak truth to him without judgment, we are here to help. We provide therapy throughout the week, both individual and also group counseling sessions.

Throughout each boy’s stay, we engage them constantly as a friend they can talk to freely, making therapy non-threatening and ongoing and in a more natural environment. We maintain close supervision, especially in the early days, but we do so while giving them loving care and inspiring them toward a personal relationship with God. We are set up like a family, loving these boys through their struggles and walking through the days beside them, coaching and training them.

DSCN0609With a Mission to Give Teens from New Mexico a New Start in Life

Master’s Ranch is a home away from home for teenage boys from other states like New Mexico, who need proper direction to change the course of their lives. Parents enroll their young men, age 12-17, to Master’s Ranch after seeing them begin to get in trouble and headed on a downward spiral that cannot be helped by counseling alone.

Boys at Master’s Ranch Christian Academy spend a lot of their weekends and free time camping, playing sports, and just learning how to enjoy good clean fun again. They are brought to our boarding school to live in a disciplined environment, learning obedience and personal responsibility through a renewed focus on faith, caring for themselves and their future, and through caring for the animals on our ranch. We treat education as a privilege, and we teach boys to view it in the same way.

Adventure and Physical Outlets are Important in our Boarding School for Boys

We begin with physical exercise with the goal of bringing boys up to a standard level of fitness. They develop strength, their self-esteem improves, and they experience a positive achievement as they begin to see progress in their fitness goals. The same concepts also work well in other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in academics, their accomplishments develop confidence so that boys are built up.

Academic Training for Boys from New Mexico

We have certified teachers on staff who provide instruction and one-on-one tutoring assistance to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accomplish both ends of the academic spectrum. The flexible curriculum allows students who may be struggling with certain subjects to master them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are scheduled for those who excel academically and desire to get ahead.

Our residential academic program operates year-round, to keep students engaged and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. During the summers we run a half-day academic schedule to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.

Helping Boys learn New Boundaries

Master’s Ranch Christian Academy goes beyond traditional boarding schools in that it helps young men to mentally understand the ramifications of bad choices. Their thinking straightens out and their destructive behavior is replaced with character and integrity. Master’s Ranch gives boys a reason to succeed.

After the boys are at the ranch for a time, they have opportunities for work experience in select businesses nearby. It allows them to try out their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. The wage they earn is put into an account that they take home with them when they go home. The ranch itself also provides some industries for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys are trained marketable skills and a real sense of accomplishment from these opportunities.

Where Spiritual Training Leads to Improved Behaviors in Boys

Boys have access to daily devotions and weekly church services, so they have the chance to ask questions about life and choose a relationship with Jesus. We provide group and individual counseling and person-to-person mentorship and spiritual guidance.

New Mexico is a state located in the southwest and western regions of the United States. New Mexico is also usually considered one of the Mountain States. New Mexico is the 5th most extensive, the 36th most populous, and the 6th least densely populated of the 50 United States.
Inhabited by Native American populations for many centuries, New Mexico has also been part of the Imperial Spanish viceroyalty of New Spain, part of Mexico, and a U.S. territory. Among U.S. states, New Mexico has the highest percentage of Hispanics, including descendants of Spanish colonists and recent immigrants from Latin America. It also has the second-highest percentage of Native Americans, after Alaska, and the fifth-highest total number of Native Americans after California, Oklahoma, Arizona, and Texas. The tribes in the state consist of mostly Navajo and Pueblo peoples. As a result, the demographics and culture of the state are unique for their strong Hispanic and Native American influences. The flag of New Mexico is represented by the red and gold colors, which represent Spain, as well as the Zia symbol, an ancient Native American symbol for the sun.
