Boys spend a great deal of time hunting, playing sports, and generally learning how to enjoy good clean fun again.
Physical Training
We start right away with physical exercise with the goal of bringing boys up to a minimum level of fitness. They develop muscle, they feel good about themselves, and they experience a positive achievement as they begin to see progress in their fitness goals. The same concepts also work well in other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in their education, their achievements build confidence so that boys are built up.
Mental Training
Master’s Ranch Christian Academy goes beyond trqditional boarding schools in that it helps boys to mentally understand the consequences of bad choices. Their thinking clears and their destructive behavior disappears, replaced with character and integrity. Teens at Master’s Ranch have a reason to succeed.
Academic Training
We have excellent teachers on staff who provide instruction and one-on-one tutoring attention to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accomplish both ends of the academic spectrum. The self-paced curriculum allows students who may be struggling with certain courses to accomplish them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are ready for those who excel academically and desire to get ahead.
Our boarding school operates year-round, to keep students involved and to give them the chance to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. During the summers we run a shortened academic regimen to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
Boys who have improved their actions and have become trustworthy are given a chance for work experience in the local economy. It allows them to try out their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dime they earn is put into a fund that they take home with them when they go home. The ranch itself also offers some industries for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys are trained marketable skills and a real sense of accomplishment from these endeavors.
Spiritual Training
Teens participate in daily devotions and weekly church services, so they have the chance to ask questions about life and choose a relationship with Jesus. We give biblical counseling and person-to-person mentorship and spiritual guidance.
