Physical Training
We start with physical exercise with the goal of bringing boys up to a standard level of fitness. They develop muscle, they feel good about themselves, and they gain a positive achievement as they begin to meet fitness goals. The same concepts also work well in other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in school, their achievements develop confidence so that boys are built up.
Mental Training
Master’s Ranch Christian Academy goes beyond trqditional boarding schools in that it helps boys to mentally come to terms with the consequences of bad behaviors. Their thinking straightens out and their inappropriate behavior turns into character and integrity. Teens at Master’s Ranch have a reason to succeed.
Academic Training
We have excellent teachers on our personnel who provide instruction and one-on-one tutoring attention to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accomplish both ends of the academic spectrum. The self-paced curriculum allows students who may be struggling with certain subjects to master them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are scheduled for those who succeed academically and wish to get ahead.
Our boarding school operates year-round, to keep students involved and to give them the chance to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. All summer we run a partial academic schedule to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
Vocational Training
Boys who have improved their actions and have become trustworthy are given opportunities for work experience in select businesses nearby. It allows them to try out their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. The wage they earn is put into an account that they withdraw when they leave. The ranch itself also provides some vocational opportunities for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys are trained marketable skills and self-confidence from these endeavors.
Spiritual Training
Students take part in daily devotions and weekly church services, so they have the chance to ask questions about life and choose a relationship with Jesus. We offer group and individual counseling and life-on-life mentoring and spiritual direction.
