Boarding Schools for Boys in Louisiana

Boarding Schools for Boys in Louisiana…Do They Provide Help for Troubled Boys Like Master’s Ranch Does?

Master’s Ranch in Missouri might be just the place that can help your boy if he’s getting in trouble and has gotten off track in life. A boarding school just for at-risk boys, we help boys from Louisiana and other states. We would love the chance to tell you about our affordable program, even if you are in Louisiana.

If your could use someone trustworthy who will hear him and speak truth to him without judgment, we are here to help. We provide therapy throughout the week, both individual and also group counseling sessions.

Throughout each boy’s stay, we engage them constantly as someone they can talk to freely, making our counsel non-threatening and ongoing and in a more natural environment. We maintain close supervision, especially at the start, but we do so while surrounding them with loving care and inspiring them toward a personal relationship with God. We are set up like a family, caring for these boys no matter what and walking through the days next to them, coaching and instructing them.

Master’s Ranch is a home away from home for adolescent boys from other states like Louisiana, who need proper direction to change the course of their lives. Parents enroll their boys, age 12-17, to Master’s Ranch after seeing them begin to get in trouble and headed on a downward spiral which cannot be stopped by counseling alone.

Boys at Master’s Ranch Christian Academy spend a great deal of their free time outdoors, playing sports, and just learning how to have healthy fun again. They are brought to our boarding school to live in a disciplined environment, learning respect for authority and personal responsibility through a renewed focus on faith, caring for themselves and their future, and through caring for the animals on our ranch. We treat education as a privilege, and we teach boys to think about it in the same way.

Adventure and Physical Outlets are Important in our Boarding School for Boys

We begin with physical training with the goal of bringing boys up to a standard level of fitness. They build muscle, they feel good about themselves, and they experience a positive achievement as they begin to see progress in their fitness goals. Those achievements carry over into other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in school, their accomplishments develop confidence so that boys are built up.

Academic Training for Boys from Louisiana

We have excellent teachers on staff who offer instruction and one-on-one tutoring attention to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accomplish both ends of the academic spectrum. The flexible curriculum allows students who may be struggling with certain courses to master them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are available for those who excel academically and wish to get ahead.

Our residential academic program operates year-round, to keep students engaged and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. During the summers we run a half-day academic schedule to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.

Helping Boys Begin Thinking About Appropriate Boundaries

Master’s Ranch Christian Academy goes beyond traditional boarding schools in that it helps boys to mentally comprehend the results of bad behaviors. Their thinking clears and their destructive behavior disappears, replaced with character and integrity. At Master’s Ranch, we give boys every opportunity to be successful.

After the boys are at the ranch for a time, they have opportunities for vocational experience in the local economy. It allows them to exercise their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. The wage they earn is put into a fund that they take home with them when they leave. The ranch itself also provides some industries for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys are trained marketable skills and self-confidence from these endeavors.

Where Spiritual Training Leads to Improved Behaviors in Boys

Students take part in daily devotions and weekly church services, so they have opportunities to ask questions about life and experience a relationship with Jesus. We offer group and individual counseling and ongoing mentoring and spiritual guidance.

Boys from Louisiana who graduate the Master’s Ranch program may return home to Louisiana to complete high school and rejoin their parents, or they may move on to college, further vocational training, employment, or the armed services. Master’s Ranch graduates are highly prepared for productive lives.

More about boarding schools  for boys in Louisiana:

Louisiana is a state located in the southern region of the United States of America. Louisiana is the 31st most extensive and the 25th most populous of the 50 United States. Its capital is Baton Rouge and largest city is New Orleans. Louisiana is the only state in the U.S. with political subdivisions termed parishes, which are local governments equivalent to counties. The largest parish by population is East Baton Rouge Parish, and the largest by land area is Cameron Parish.
Some Louisiana urban environments have a multicultural, multilingual heritage, being so strongly influenced by an admixture of 18th century French, Spanish, Native American (Indian) and African cultures that they are considered to be somewhat exceptional in the U.S. Before the American influx and statehood at the beginning of the 19th century, the territory of current Louisiana State had been a Spanish and French colony. In addition, the pattern of development included importing numerous African slaves in the 18th century, with many from the same region of West Africa, thus concentrating their culture.
