Physical Training
We begin with physical exercise with the goal of bringing boys up to a minimum level of fitness. They develop muscle, they feel good about themselves, and they experience a positive achievement as they begin to meet fitness goals. Those achievements carry over into other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in their education, their accomplishments bolster confidence so that boys are built up.
Mental Training
Master’s Ranch Christian Academy goes beyond trqditional boarding schools in that it helps young men to mentally understand the ramifications of bad choices. Their thinking clears and their destructive behavior turns into character and integrity. Master’s Ranch gives boys a reason to succeed.
Academic Training
We have excellent teachers on staff who offer instruction and one-on-one tutoring attention to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we focus on both ends of the academic spectrum. The flexible curriculum allows students who may be struggling with certain subjects to master them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are ready for those who excel academically and wish to get ahead.
Our boarding academy operates year-round, to keep students involved and to give them the chance to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. During the summers we run a partial academic schedule to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
Vocational Training
Boys who have improved their actions and have become trustworthy are given opportunities for vocational experience in the local economy. It allows them to exercise their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dollar they earn is put into an account that they withdraw when they leave. The ranch itself also provides some vocational opportunities for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys gain marketable skills and self-confidence from these endeavors.
Spiritual Training
Boys take part in daily devotions and weekly church services, so they have opportunities to ask questions about life and choose a relationship with Jesus. We provide group and individual counseling and person-to-person mentorship and spiritual direction.
