Master’s Ranch in Missouri could be just the place for your teenage boy if he’s getting in trouble and is hurting his own future. If your needs someone to confide in who will hear him and speak truth to him without judgment, we are here to help. We provide therapy throughout the week, both individual and also in a group setting.

Throughout each boy’s stay, we engage them constantly as a friend they can talk to freely, making our counsel non-threatening and ongoing and in a more natural environment. We maintain close supervision, especially at the start, but we do so while surrounding them with loving care and encouraging them toward a personal relationship with God. We operate like a family, caring for these boys unconditionally and going through the days beside them, coaching and leading them.

Master’s Ranch is a new home for boys from other states like Iowa, who need proper direction to make a new start for themselves. Parents enroll their boys, age 12-17, to Master’s Ranch after learning that they’ve begun to get in trouble and headed on a downward spiral which cannot be stopped by counseling alone.

Boys at MRCA spend a great deal of their weekends and free time fishing, playing sports, and generally learning how to enjoy good clean fun again. They are brought to our boarding school to live in a structured environment, learning respect for authority and personal responsibility through a renewed focus on faith, caring for themselves and their future, and through caring for the animals on our ranch. We treat education as a privilege, and we teach boys to think about it in the same way.

Adventure and Physical Outlets are Important in our Boarding School for Boys

We start right away with physical training to bring boys up to a standard level of fitness. They gain strength, they have a reason to feel good about themselves, and they experience a positive achievement as they begin to see progress in their fitness goals. The same concepts also work well in other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in school, their achievements build confidence so that boys are built up.

Academic Training for Boys from Iowa

We have qualified teachers on our personnel who provide instruction and one-on-one tutoring attention to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we focus on both ends of the academic spectrum. The flexible curriculum allows students who may be having difficulty with certain subjects to master them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are scheduled for those who succeed academically and desire to get ahead.

Our boarding school operates year-round, to keep students involved and to give them the chance to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. During the summers we run a shortened academic schedule to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.

Helping Boys Begin Thinking About Appropriate Boundaries

MRCA goes beyond traditional boarding schools in that it helps boys to mentally comprehend the consequences of bad actions. Their thinking straightens out and their destructive behavior turns into character and integrity. Teens at Master’s Ranch have a reason to succeed.

Boys who have improved their actions and have become trustworthy are given a chance for work experience in the local economy. It allows them to exercise their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dollar they earn is put into a fund that they withdraw when they go home. The ranch itself also offers some industries for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys are trained marketable skills and a real sense of accomplishment from these opportunities.

At Master’s Ranch Spiritual Training Leads to Improved Behaviors in Boys

Students take part in regular devotions and weekly church services, so they have opportunities to ask questions about God and choose a relationship with Jesus. We offer group and individual counseling and person-to-person mentoring and spiritual direction.

Help finding boarding schools  for boys in Iowa:

Iowa is a state located in the Midwestern United States, an area often referred to as the “American Heartland”. It derives its name from the Ioway people, one of the many American Indian tribes that occupied the state at the time of European exploration. Iowa was a part of the French colony of New France. After the Louisiana Purchase, settlers laid the foundation for an agriculture-based economy in the heart of the Corn Belt. Iowa is often known as the “Food Capital of the World”. However, Iowa’s economy, culture, and landscape are diverse.
In the latter half of the 20th century, Iowa’s agricultural economy transitioned to a diversified economy of advanced manufacturing, processing, financial services, biotechnology, and green energy production. Iowa is the 26th most extensive and the 30th most populous of the 50 United States. Its capital and largest city is Des Moines. Iowa has been listed as one of the safest states to live in.
