Physical Training
We start right away with physical training with the goal of bringing boys up to a minimum level of fitness. They develop muscle, they feel good about themselves, and they experience a positive achievement as they begin to see progress in their fitness goals. Those achievements carry over into other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in academics, their achievements bolster confidence so that boys are built up.
Mental Training
Master’s Ranch Christian Academy goes beyond trqditional boarding schools in that it helps young men to mentally realize the ramifications of bad choices. Their thinking straightens out and their destructive behavior turns into character and integrity. Teens at Master’s Ranch have a reason to succeed.
Academic Training
We have qualified teachers on our personnel who offer instruction and one-on-one tutoring assistance to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accommodate both ends of the academic spectrum. The self-paced curriculum allows students who may be struggling with certain subjects to accomplish them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are available for those who excel academically and wish to get ahead.
Our residential academic program operates year-round, to keep students engaged and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. During normal summer break we run a half-day academic regimen to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
Vocational Training
After the boys are at the ranch for a time, they have opportunities for work experience in select businesses nearby. It allows them to exercise their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. The wage they earn is put into a fund that they withdraw when they go home. The ranch itself also offers some industries for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys gain marketable skills and a real sense of accomplishment from these endeavors.
Spiritual Training
Boys participate in daily devotions and weekly church services, so they have the chance to ask questions about God and choose a relationship with Jesus. We provide group and individual counseling and ongoing mentoring and spiritual guidance.
