We provide counseling throughout the week, both individual and also in a group setting. Throughout each boy’s stay, we engage them constantly as a friend they can talk to freely, making therapy non-threatening and ongoing in a more natural environment. We maintain a watchful eye, especially in the early days, but we do so while giving them loving care and encouraging them toward a personal relationship with God. We work like a family, loving these boys no matter what and going through the days alongside them, coaching and teaching them.

Residents spend a great deal of their free time hunting, playing sports, and just learning how to enjoy healthy fun again.
We start with physical exercise with the goal of bringing boys up to a basic level of fitness. They develop strength, their self-respect improves, and they gain something positive as they begin to see progress in their fitness goals. Those achievements carry over into other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in school, their achievements develop confidence so that boys are built up.
MRCA goes beyond trqditional boarding schools in that it helps boys to mentally understand the consequences of bad behaviors. Their thinking straightens out and their inappropriate behavior is replaced with character and integrity. Master’s Ranch gives boys a reason to succeed.
We have certified teachers on staff who offer instruction and one-on-one tutoring assistance to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we focus on both ends of the academic spectrum. The self-paced curriculum allows students who may be having difficulty with certain courses to accomplish them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are available for those who excel academically and desire to get ahead.
Our boarding school operates year-round, to keep students involved and to give them the chance to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. During the summers we run a shortened academic regimen to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
After the boys are at the ranch for a time, they have a chance for vocational experience in the local economy. It allows them to exercise their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dollar they earn is put into a fund that they take home with them when they leave. The ranch itself also provides some industries for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys gain marketable skills and self-confidence from these opportunities.
Boys have access to daily devotions and weekly church services, so they have opportunities to ask questions about life and experience a relationship with Jesus. We offer biblical counseling and life-on-life mentorship and spiritual direction.
