If your teen has gotten off track, he needs someone to confide in who will hear him and speak truth to him without judgment. We provide therapy throughout the week, both one-on-one and also in a group setting. Throughout each boy’s stay, we engage them constantly as someone they can talk to freely, making therapy non-threatening and ongoing in a more natural environment. We maintain a watchful eye, especially in the early days, but we do so while surrounding them with loving care and encouraging them toward a personal relationship with God. We work like a family, caring for these boys through their struggles and walking through the days next to them, coaching and training them.
Master’s Ranch was Founded to Give Sons from Coral Springs, Florida a New Start in Life
Master’s Ranch is a new home for boys from places like Coral Springs, Florida, who need proper direction to turn their lives around. Parents bring their boys, age 12-17, to Master’s Ranch after seeing them begin a downward spiral which cannot be stopped by counseling alone.
Boys from Coral Springs, Florida come to our boarding school to live in a structured environment, learning respect for authority and personal responsibility through a renewed focus on faith, caring for themselves and their future, and through caring for the animals on our ranch. We view education as a privilege, and we teach boys to think about it in the same way.
Residents spend a great deal of their free time fishing, playing sports, and generally learning how to have good clean fun again.
We start right away with physical training with the goal of bringing boys up to a basic level of fitness. They develop strength, they have a reason to feel good about themselves, and they experience a positive achievement as they begin to meet fitness goals. Those achievements carry over into other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in their education, their positive experiences bolster confidence so that boys are built up.
MRCA goes beyond trqditional boarding schools in that it helps boys to mentally come to terms with the results of bad actions. Their thinking straightens out and their destructive behavior is replaced with character and integrity. Teens at Master’s Ranch have a reason to succeed.
We have excellent teachers on staff who provide instruction and one-on-one tutoring assistance to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we focus on both ends of the academic spectrum. The flexible curriculum allows students who may be struggling with certain subjects to accomplish them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are scheduled for those who excel academically and desire to get ahead.
Our residential academic program operates year-round, to keep students involved and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. During normal summer break we run a shortened academic regimen to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
After the boys are at the ranch for a time, they have opportunities for vocational experience in the local economy. It allows them to try out their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dollar they earn is put into an account that they take home with them when they go home. The ranch itself also provides some vocational opportunities for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys are trained marketable skills and a real sense of accomplishment from these endeavors.
Boys have access to regular devotions and weekly church services, so they have the chance to ask questions about life and choose a relationship with Jesus. We offer biblical counseling and ongoing mentorship and spiritual direction.
