Students spend a great deal of their weekends and free time hunting, playing sports, and just learning how to enjoy good clean fun again.
Physical Training
We start with physical exercise with the goal of bringing boys up to a basic level of fitness. They build muscle, they have a reason to feel good about themselves, and they gain a positive achievement as they begin to meet fitness goals. The same concepts also work well in other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in academics, their positive experiences develop confidence so that boys are built up.
Mental Training
Master’s Ranch Christian Academy goes beyond trqditional boarding schools in that it helps young men to mentally understand the ramifications of bad actions. Their thinking straightens out and their destructive behavior turns into character and integrity. Master’s Ranch gives boys a reason to succeed.
Academic Training
We have certified teachers on staff who offer instruction and one-on-one tutoring assistance to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accommodate both ends of the academic spectrum. The flexible curriculum allows students who may be having difficulty with certain subjects to master them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are available for those who succeed academically and desire to get ahead.
Our boarding school operates year-round, to keep students involved and to give them the chance to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. All summer we run a partial academic schedule to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
Vocational Training
After the boys are at the ranch for a time, they have opportunities for vocational experience in the local economy. It allows them to exercise their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. The wage they earn is put into an account that they withdraw when they go home. The ranch itself also provides some industries for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys gain marketable skills and a real sense of accomplishment from these opportunities.
Spiritual Training
Boys have access to daily devotions and weekly church services, so they have the chance to ask questions about God and choose a relationship with Jesus. We provide group and individual counseling and life-on-life mentoring and spiritual direction.
