We provide counseling throughout the week, both one-on-one and also group counseling sessions. Throughout each boy’s stay, we engage them constantly as someone they can talk to freely, making therapy non-threatening and ongoing in a more natural environment. We maintain a watchful eye, especially in the early days, but we do so while giving them loving care and encouraging them toward a personal relationship with God. We operate like a family, loving these boys unconditionally and going through the days right with them, coaching and instructing them.

Residents spend a great deal of time outdoors, playing sports, and generally learning how to enjoy good clean fun again.
We start right away with physical training with the goal of bringing boys up to a standard level of fitness. They build muscle, they have a reason to feel good about themselves, and they gain something positive as they begin to see progress in their fitness goals. Those achievements carry over into other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in academics, their accomplishments develop confidence so that boys are built up.
MRCA goes beyond trqditional boarding schools in that it helps young men to mentally understand the ramifications of bad choices. Their thinking straightens out and their inappropriate behavior turns into character and integrity. Teens at Master’s Ranch have a reason to succeed.
We have qualified teachers on our personnel who provide instruction and one-on-one tutoring assistance to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we focus on both ends of the academic spectrum. The self-paced curriculum allows students who may be having difficulty with certain courses to accomplish them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are ready for those who succeed academically and wish to get ahead.
Our boarding school operates year-round, to keep students involved and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. All summer we run a partial academic schedule to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
Boys who have improved their actions and have become trustworthy are given a chance for vocational experience in the local economy. It allows them to exercise their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dime they earn is put into an account that they withdraw when they go home. The ranch itself also provides some vocational opportunities for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys are trained marketable skills and self-confidence from these opportunities.
Residents have access to regular devotions and weekly church services, so they have opportunities to ask questions about God and choose a relationship with Jesus. We offer pastoral counseling and person-to-person mentorship and spiritual guidance.
