Residents spend a lot of their weekends and free time fishing, playing sports, and generally learning how to enjoy healthy fun again.
Physical Training
We begin with physical exercise to bring boys up to a basic level of fitness. They build muscle, they feel good about themselves, and they gain a positive achievement as they begin to meet fitness goals. Those achievements carry over into other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in school, their accomplishments develop confidence so that boys are built up.
Mental Training
Master’s Ranch Christian Academy goes beyond trqditional boarding schools in that it helps boys to mentally come to terms with the ramifications of bad actions. Their thinking clears and their destructive behavior is replaced with character and integrity. Teens at Master’s Ranch have a reason to succeed.
Academic Training
We have certified teachers on our personnel who offer instruction and one-on-one tutoring attention to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we focus on both ends of the academic spectrum. The flexible curriculum allows students who may be having difficulty with certain subjects to accomplish them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are scheduled for those who excel academically and desire to get ahead.
Our residential academic program operates year-round, to keep students engaged and to give them the chance to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. All summer we run a shortened academic regimen to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
After the boys are at the ranch for a time, they have opportunities for vocational experience in select businesses nearby. It allows them to try out their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dollar they earn is put into a fund that they take home with them when they go home. The ranch itself also provides some industries for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys gain marketable skills and self-confidence from these opportunities.
Spiritual Training
Students take part in regular devotions and weekly church services, so they have opportunities to ask questions about God and discover a relationship with Jesus. We offer biblical counseling and life-on-life mentoring and spiritual direction.
