Residents spend a great deal of their weekends and free time hunting, playing sports, and generally learning how to enjoy good clean fun again.
Physical Training
We begin with physical training to bring boys up to a minimum level of fitness. They gain strength, they have a reason to feel good about themselves, and they gain something positive as they begin to see progress in their fitness goals. Those achievements carry over into other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in academics, their positive experiences develop confidence so that boys are built up.
Mental Training
Master’s Ranch Christian Academy goes beyond trqditional boarding schools in that it helps young men to mentally comprehend the results of bad actions. Their thinking straightens out and their destructive behavior is replaced with character and integrity. Teens at Master’s Ranch have a reason to succeed.
Academic Training
We have excellent teachers on staff who provide instruction and one-on-one tutoring assistance to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we focus on both ends of the academic spectrum. The self-paced curriculum allows students who may be struggling with certain subjects to accomplish them and catch up. Advanced coursework and college-prep programs are ready for those who succeed academically and desire to get ahead.
Our boarding school operates year-round, to keep students involved and to give them the chance to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. All summer we run a shortened academic regimen to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
Vocational Training
Boys who have improved their actions and have become trustworthy are given opportunities for vocational experience in select businesses nearby. It allows them to try out their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dollar they earn is put into a fund that they withdraw when they go home. The ranch itself also provides some vocational opportunities for the young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys gain marketable skills and self-confidence from these endeavors.
Spiritual Training
Residents have access to regular devotions and weekly church services, so they have opportunities to ask questions about life and experience a relationship with Jesus. We offer group and individual counseling and ongoing mentoring and spiritual direction.
