We want you to have as much information as possible prior to enrolling your son in Master’s Ranch.
What does Master’s Ranch Cost?
When compared to typical residential, therapeutic programs for teens (sometimes costing as much as $30,000), Master’s Ranch tuition is exceptionally reasonable and listed in the application. As a ministry, it is our desire to help your family, so we’ve kept costs affordable. For more information, please contact our Admissions team at (417) 938-4711 with any questions.
We have received many of these calls over the years, and they don’t bother us! We welcome questions about finances for our program.
Is Master’s Ranch covered by my insurance?
We are not a medical or clinical facility. We are a qualifying care organization that helps young men ages 12-17 recover from defiant behavior, abuse, neglect, self-harm, life-controlling substance abuse, and other tragedies.
Students have weekly therapy with professional, vetted, outside counselors, and this therapy can be covered by medical insurance.
Is financial aid available?
Compared to other residential, therapeutic, ranch settings for troubled teens, our program at Master’s Ranch is significantly more affordable.
We encourage parents/guardians to pursue sponsorships from their church, relatives, or friends. Some parents have used GoFundMe for student sponsorship to cover tuition.
What do you mean by ‘faith-based’?
Master’s Ranch is known for its success as a faith-based ministry. Every aspect of our ministry—curriculum, mentoring, vocational prep, and 24/7 care—is Christ-centered.
What if my son doesn’t want to participate in these activities?
We operate on a leveled achievement system. See more about it here.
Completing the curriculum and program is required at Master’s Ranch, even if a student doesn’t fully agree with the teachings. Respect for the message and participation in activities like church services are required, although students will not be disciplined for a lack of agreement with lessons.
Will my son go to school while at Master’s Ranch?
Yes. We partner with accredited schooling programs so students receive high quality education while in the Master’s Ranch program.
What if my son has pending legal problems?
Legal issues do not prevent enrollment. Please include all court information in the application. Families from out of state may need to secure an Interstate Compact, and transportation to court appearances remains the family’s responsibility.
What if my son has pending medical problems or gets sick?
Medical issues may or may not prevent enrollment. Routine visits to doctors or medical facilities needed should be addressed before entry. We respond to medical emergencies, but scheduled visits remain the family’s responsibility and will only be allowed during family visit times.
What if we are coming from out of state and my son needs to fly home for visits or holidays?
We discourage unsupervised flights, but if necessary, all flights should be direct and communicated to our office staff. Please inform us of any transportation plans via our office or the proper contact within Master’s Ranch.
What if my son is a vegetarian/vegan or has other dietary needs?
Master’s Ranch provides well-balanced meals, but we do not offer special menus for vegetarians or vegans. If your son has a severe food allergy, please notify us before admission. We do require written documentation from a primary care physician for special allowances due to allergies, though we cannot guarantee against cross-contamination.
How long is the program?
We recommend a minimum stay for each student. If your son is not able to commit to that minimum period, this may not be the program for him.
