Troubled Teen Boarding Schools for Boys in Michigan May Not Have What Master’s Ranch in Missouri Has
Even though this troubled teen boarding school is not located in Michigan, Master’s Ranch in Missouri might be just the place that can help your boy if he’s getting in trouble and gotten off track in life.
We are a boarding school for troubled teenage boys, admitting boys from Michigan. Even though our ranch is found in rural Missouri, not in Michigan, we would love the opportunity to tell you about our affordable program.
If your teen has gotten off track, he needs someone trustworthy who will listen to him and guide him without judgment. We provide therapy throughout the week, both one-on-one and also in a group setting. Throughout each boy’s stay, we engage them constantly as someone they can talk to freely, making therapy non-threatening and ongoing in a more natural environment. We maintain a watchful eye, especially in the early days, but we do so while giving them loving care and encouraging them toward a personal relationship with God. We work like a family, caring for these boys unconditionally and going through the days right with them, coaching and teaching them.
Master’s Ranch has a Mission to Give Boys from Michigan a New Start in Life
Master’s Ranch is a home away from home for teenage boys from places like Michigan, who need proper direction to make a new start for themselves. Parents enroll their boys, age 12-17, to Master’s Ranch after seeing them begin to get in trouble and headed on a downward spiral that cannot be helped by counseling alone.
Boys from Michigan come to our boarding school to live in a structured environment, learning respect for authority and personal responsibility through a renewed focus on faith, caring for themselves and their future, and through caring for the animals on our ranch. We view education as a privilege, and we teach boys to think about it in the same way.
Troubled Boys spend a lot of time outdoors, playing sports, and generally learning how to enjoy wholesome fun again.
Physical Training in our Troubled Teen Boarding School
We start right away with physical training with the goal of bringing boys up to a basic level of fitness. They develop muscle, their self-esteem improves, and they experience something positive as they begin to meet fitness goals. Those achievements carry over into other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in their education, their accomplishments develop confidence so that boys are built up.
Helping Boys Begin Thinking About Appropriate Boundaries
MRCA goes beyond traditional boarding schools in that it helps boys to mentally come to terms with the results of bad actions. Their thinking straightens out and their inappropriate behavior is replaced with character and integrity. At Master’s Ranch, we give boys every opportunity to be successful.
Academic Training for Boys from Michigan
We have excellent teachers on our personnel who provide instruction and one-on-one tutoring attention to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we focus on both ends of the academic spectrum. The flexible curriculum allows students who may be having difficulty with certain courses to master them and catch up. Advanced coursework and a college-prep programs are available for those who excel academically and desire to get ahead.
Our residential academic program operates year-round, to keep students engaged and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. All summer we run a shortened academic regimen to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
Troubled Boys from Michigan Learn from Vocational Training
After the boys are at the ranch for a time, they have a chance for work experience in select businesses nearby. It allows them to exercise their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. The wage they earn is put into a fund that they take home with them when they leave. The ranch itself also provides some industries for the boys young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys are trained marketable skills and a real sense of accomplishment from these endeavors.
Where Spiritual Training Leads to Improved Behaviors in Troubled Boys
Boys participate in regular devotions and weekly church services, so they have the chance to ask questions about God and discover a relationship with Jesus. We provide biblical counseling and person-to-person mentorship and spiritual direction.
Our Troubled Teen Boarding School Sends Boys Out Ready for Tomorrow
