Testimony of Adam Walters

My name is Adam Kammler Walters. I’m 25 years old and happily married; but I didn’t get here alone. Just three years ago I was a hopeless addict living on the streets of San Diego California. I had been doing drugs since the age of 15. I didn’t graduate high school, couldn’t hold a job and bounced around from place to place until I had nothing left. By the age of 21 I had developed a heavy and expensive addiction to crystal meth. My family new and had given up trying to help; and rightly so. They didn’t deserve the things I put them through.
I had no friends; no real friends. I had no possessions except for my car that I couldn’t pay for. No job, no money and no home. This was nobody’s fault but my own and I knew it but needless to say I needed help bad. When I turned 22 in February of 2009 I made a conscious decision to try to quit and get my life together. This wasn’t my first attempt and I knew it wasn’t going to be easy on my own. I think I made it a week before I went back to using and I was instantly back on my butt. A couple weeks later I woke up from a good 48 hour nap and thought to myself: How do I start this day off right so it doesn’t end wrong? I was truly tired of the life I was living. After pondering a while I came to the realization that it was Sunday. I instantly remembered my childhood and how my parents took me to church every Sunday morning.
I looked at the clock and I still had time to get there. I hopped in the car looking like the bum I was and headed to the only place I had ever known to be righteous; the church I grew up in; Calvary Chapel Oceanside, in hopes that’s something or someone there cold help me. My car was out of gas but somehow I made it. I sat in the back row and listened to the sermon. Afterwards I went looking for the pastor Mike Reed so I could tell him my story hoping maybe he could help me. When I finally found him near the front door he remembered me from when I was a child. I told him I had been using drugs and that my life was a mess. I told him I needed help. He was at a loss for words but he soon thought of a man I had never met. Tony Pollato. He told me I should talk to Tony and maybe he would know what to do. And just then as if God had it all planned out Tony walked by on his way out the door.
Pastor Mike pointed him out and I quickly dashed over to where he was and began to blurt out my troubles. After a short talk and a prayer Tony said: “I want to help you Adam.” He took me home and treated me like a son. For a week I volunteered at the church while Tony tried to figure out how to help me. During that week I learned what Tony did and how he had helped families with troubled teens before. I was already feeling that there was hope for me yet. Tony brought up a ranch in Missouri called The Masters Ranch and Christian Academy. It’s a boarding school for troubles teens, and though I was no teen, he said the guy that runs it has a real heart for kids and maybe he would be able to put me to work. At first I wasn’t crazy about the idea of leaving California, but after giving it some thought I said I’d do it.
One of the best decisions I ever made! With the OK of Pastor David Bosley the head of The Masters Ranch I was on a plane a day later. Pastor Dave and his wife Tresa helped me to get off drugs and get re-connected with my Lord and savior Jesus Christ. From there I went to Illinois where I spent a year learning and growing at Providence Baptist College. Then I came back to the ranch to work and help the other troubled teens. During that time I met my wife Audrey, I got my own place and landed a good job near the ranch. I love my life now but I’d be dead or wishing I was if it weren’t for a few people with some big hearts.
My thanks go out to Tony Pollato for having the guts to take on a case like me. And Pastor Bosley and The Masters Ranch & Christian Academy for giving it to me straight and true from the KJV. And most importantly I thank My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for putting these people in place to literally point me in the right direction make all this possible for me, because my success is truly an act of God. Thank you all so much

Dear Parent(s) and/or Guardians

Dear Parent(s) or Guardians;
If you have found this website, you are probably faced with some extremely difficult and undoubtedly heartbreaking circumstances with a troubled son or boy you are guardian to. Let me begin by saying I am extremely sorry for the heartache, fears and concerns that have brought you to the point of considering residential treatment as an option for your loved one. Let me hasten to also commend you for having the courage and compassion to take this step before the situation degenerates any further. As you search this web site and consider The Master’s Ranch and Christian Academy (hereafter often shown as MRCA) as one of your many options, please believe that it is never too late to help your son reclaim his life and you have great reason to be optimistic and hopeful.
Help is available. Many organizations and ministries exist with the heart and skills to give your family a fighting chance at reconciliation and healing. These organizations vary widely in philosophy, facilities, programs and costs. Every family is unique and it may take some time to find the right program for your loved one. We understand that this is going to be one of the most critical and hardest decisions you will ever have to make as a parent. We sincerely believe we at MRCA have a unique and profound approach to troubled youth that can without a doubt help you with your son. Furthermore, we believe in helping families, not bankrupting them, so our program is among the most affordable options we know of in the country today.
If after examining all your options, you should allow us to help you, please know that we will serve your son and your family with all the strength at our disposal. We will work with and for you and fight for your son’s life as if he were our own, and when he is ready, with your help, re-integrate him into your home, college, vocational school, the military or employment as his age and interests dictate.
Please feel free to call me at any point of this process. I will be happy to assist you in any way I can. Depending on the severity of your situation, we may need to move quickly to prevent additional damage to your family or to your son’s physical, emotional, or legal well-being. In our experience, parents at this point of crisis have often only seen the tip of the ice-burg of the drama unfolding in their child’s life.
You are in our prayers, as you seek wisdom and strength to know what is the right thing to do for your son.
Sincerely,

David Bosley, Administrator
