Families in Ottawa, Kansas Come to Master’s Ranch for Their Sons Who Need a New Start in Life
Master’s Ranch is a new home for adolescent boys who need proper direction to turn their lives around. The program focuses on the value of work, taught through agricultural work, assigned chores in the dorms and kitchen, and an extensive vocational program. Boys live in a structured environment, learning respect for authority and personal responsibility. We value education as a privilege, and we teach boys to look at it the same way.
We start with physical training to bring boys up to a basic level of fitness. They build muscle, they have a reason to feel good about about themselves, and they gain something positive as they begin to meet fitness goals. Those achievements carry over into other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in their education, their accomplishments bolster confidence so that boys are built up. Meanwhile, we help boys come to terms with the results of their past behaviors. Their thinking clears and their inappropriate behavior disappears, replaced with character and integrity.Teens at Master’s Ranch have a reason to succeed.
Boys Enjoy a Family-Like Environment at Master’s Ranch
Young men at Master’s Ranch Christian Boarding School feel at home here. We are set up like a family, loving these boys through their struggles and walking through the days next to them, coaching and teaching them. We give pastoral counseling and life-on-life mentoring and spiritual guidance.
Residents participate in daily devotions and weekly church services, so they have the chance to ask questions about God and experience a relationship with Jesus. Many of our boys consider the Bosleys, the directors at Master’s Ranch, as their second family and a large percentage come back to work on the ranch or to spend time with us. We enjoy ourselves on the ranch, too. Residents spend a lot of their weekends and free time camping, playing sports, and generally learning how to enjoy good clean fun again.
