Families in Okmulgee, Oklahoma Come to Master’s Ranch for Their Teens Who Need a New Path in Life
Master’s Ranch is a second home for adolescent boys who need proper direction to make a new start for themselves. The therapeutic program focuses on the value of work, taught through ranch chores, assigned chores in the kitchen and dorms, and an outstanding vocational program. Boys live in a disciplined environment, learning obedience and personal responsibility. We view education as a privilege, and we teach boys to look at it the same way.
We begin with physical exercise to bring boys up to a basic level of fitness. They gain muscle, they feel good about themselves, and they experience something positive as they begin to meet fitness goals. Those achievements carry over into other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in academics, their accomplishments build confidence so that boys are built up. Meanwhile, we help boys comprehend the consequences of their past actions. Their thinking clears and their destructive behavior is replaced with character and integrity. Master’s Ranch gives boys a reason to succeed.
Teens Live in a Home-Like Environment at Master’s Ranch
Teenagers at Master’s Ranch Christian Boarding School feel at home here. We operate like a family, loving these boys no matter what and going through the days alongside them, coaching and leading them. We give group and individual counseling and life-on-life mentoring and spiritual direction.
Boys take part in regular devotions and weekly church services, so they have opportunities to ask questions about God and discover a relationship with Jesus. Many of our boys think of the Bosleys, the directors at Master’s Ranch, as their second parents and a large number come back to work on the ranch or to visit. We enjoy ourselves on the ranch, as well. Boys spend a great deal of their weekends and free time hunting, playing sports, and just learning how to have wholesome fun again.
