Families in Camas, Washington Choose Master’s Ranch for Their Sons Who Need a New Direction in Life
Master’s Ranch is a new home for adolescent boys who need proper direction to make a new start for themselves. The boarding school emphasizes the value of work, taught through agricultural work, daily chores in the kitchen and dorms, and an extensive vocational program. Boys live in a disciplined environment, learning obedience and personal responsibility. We view education as a privilege, and we teach boys to view it the same way.
We start with physical training with the goal of bringing boys up to a standard level of fitness. They gain strength, their self-respect improves, and they gain something positive as they begin to see progress in their fitness goals. The same concepts also work well in other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in academics, their achievements bolster confidence so that boys are built up. Meanwhile, we help boys realize the ramifications of their past behaviors. Their thinking clears and their destructive behavior turns into character and integrity.Teens at Master’s Ranch have a reason to succeed.

Camas is a city in Clark County, Washington, with a population of 19,355 at the 2010 census. Officially incorporated on June 18, 1906, the city is named after the camas lily, a plant with an onion-like bulb prized by Native Americans. At the west end of downtown Camas is a large Georgia-Pacific paper-mill from which the high school teams get their name “the Papermakers”. Accordingly, the city is about 20 miles east (downwind) from Portland, Oregon. Historically, the commercial base of the city was based almost solely on the paper mill; however, the diversity of industries has been enhanced considerably in recent years by the influx of several white-collar, high-tech companies including Hewlett-Packard, Sharp Microelectronics, Linear Technology and WaferTech among others. Annual events include the summer “Camas Days”, as well as other festivals and celebrations.
