Boarding Schools for Boys in Washington…Do They Provide Help for Troubled Boys Like Master’s Ranch Does?
Master’s Ranch in Missouri may be just the place you’re looking for if he’s getting in trouble and has gotten off track in life. A boarding school just for at-risk boys, we enroll boys from Washington and other states. We would love the opportunity to tell you about our affordable program, even if you are in Washington.
If your could use someone trustworthy who will listen to him and guide him without judgment, we are here to help. We provide counseling throughout the week, both individual and also group counseling sessions.
Throughout each boy’s stay, we engage them constantly as someone they can talk to freely, making our counsel non-threatening and ongoing and in a more natural environment. We maintain close supervision, especially in the early days, but we do so while giving them loving care and inspiring them toward a personal relationship with God. We are set up like a family, caring for these boys unconditionally and walking through the days next to them, coaching and training them.
Designed to Give Sons from Washington a New Direction in Life
Master’s Ranch is a new home for boys from other states like Washington, who need proper direction to turn their lives around. Parents bring their boys, age 12-17, to Master’s Ranch after seeing them begin to get in trouble and headed on a downward spiral that cannot be helped by counseling alone.
Boys at MRCA spend a lot of time outdoors, playing sports, and just learning how to have good clean fun again. They are brought to our boarding school to live in a disciplined environment, learning obedience and personal responsibility through a renewed focus on faith, caring for themselves and their future, and through caring for the animals on our ranch. We view education as a privilege, and we teach boys to think about it in the same way.
Adventure and Physical Outlets are Important in our Boarding School for Boys
We begin with physical training with the goal of bringing boys up to a basic level of fitness. They build muscle, they have a reason to feel good about themselves, and they experience a positive achievement as they begin to see progress in their fitness goals. The same concepts also work well in other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in academics, their achievements build confidence so that boys are built up.
Academic Training for Boys from Washington
We have qualified teachers on staff who offer instruction and one-on-one tutoring attention to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accomplish both ends of the academic spectrum. The flexible curriculum allows students who may be having difficulty with certain subjects to master them and catch up. Advanced coursework and a college-prep programs are ready for those who excel academically and desire to get ahead.
Our boarding academy operates year-round, to keep students engaged and to give them the chance to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. During the summers we run a shortened academic regimen to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
Helping Boys Begin Thinking About Appropriate Boundaries
MRCA goes beyond traditional boarding schools in that it helps boys to mentally understand the consequences of bad actions. Their thinking straightens out and their destructive behavior is replaced with character and integrity. Teens at Master’s Ranch have a reason to succeed.
Troubled Boys from Washington Learn from Vocational Training
Boys who have improved their actions and have become trustworthy are given a chance for work experience in the local economy. It allows them to try out their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dime they earn is put into an account that they take home with them when they go home. The ranch itself also offers some vocational opportunities for the boys young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys are trained marketable skills and a real sense of accomplishment from these endeavors.
Where Spiritual Training Leads to Improved Behaviors in Boys
Residents take part in regular devotions and weekly church services, so they have opportunities to ask questions about God and choose a relationship with Jesus. We provide biblical counseling and person-to-person mentorship and spiritual guidance.
