Our residential academic program operates year-round, to keep students involved and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. During the summers we run a shortened academic regimen to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
Boys who have improved their actions and have become trustworthy are given opportunities for work experience in the local economy. It allows them to exercise their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. The wage they earn is put into a fund that they take home with them when they leave. The ranch itself also offers some industries for the boys young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming.
