We have certified teachers on our personnel who offer instruction and one-on-one tutoring attention to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accomplish both ends of the academic spectrum. The flexible curriculum allows students who may be struggling with certain subjects to master them and catch up. Advanced coursework and a college-prep programs are available for those who excel academically and wish to get ahead.
Our boarding academy operates year-round, to keep students engaged and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. All summer we run a half-day academic regimen to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
After the boys are at the ranch for a time, they have opportunities for vocational experience in the local economy. It allows them to exercise their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dollar they earn is put into a fund that they take home with them when they leave. The ranch itself also provides some vocational opportunities for the boys young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys gain marketable skills and a real sense of accomplishment from these endeavors.
Residents have access to regular devotions and weekly church services, so they have the chance to ask questions about life and experience a relationship with Jesus. We provide pastoral counseling and life-on-life mentorship and spiritual direction.
