We begin with physical training to bring boys up to a standard level of fitness. In work projects and vocational skills and even in school, their achievements build confidence so that boys are built up.
MRCA goes beyond trqditional boarding schools in that it helps boys to mentally comprehend the results of bad choices. Their thinking straightens out and their destructive behavior turns into character and integrity. At Master’s Ranch, we give boys every opportunity to be successful.
We have certified teachers on staff who provide instruction and one-on-one tutoring attention to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accomplish both ends of the academic spectrum. The flexible curriculum allows students who may be struggling with certain subjects to accomplish them and catch up. Advanced coursework and a college-prep programs are ready for those who succeed academically and wish to get ahead.
Our boarding school operates year-round, to keep students engaged and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. All summer we run a partial academic schedule to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
After the boys are at the ranch for a time, they have a chance for work experience in the local economy. It allows them to try out their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. The wage they earn is put into a fund that they withdraw when they go home. The ranch itself also offers some industries for the boys young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys are trained marketable skills and a self-confidence from these endeavors.
Teens have access to regular devotions and weekly church services, so they have the chance to ask questions about God and experience a relationship with Jesus. We offer group and individual counseling and life-on-life mentoring and spiritual direction.
