Master’s Ranch is a new home for adolescent boys from places like Roscoe, Illinois, who need proper direction to make a new start for themselves. Parents bring their boys, age 12-17, to Master’s Ranch after seeing them begin a downward spiral which cannot be stopped by counseling alone.
Boys from Roscoe, Illinois come to our boarding school to live in a structured environment, learning respect for authority and personal responsibility through a renewed focus on faith, caring for themselves and their future, and through caring for the animals on our ranch. We view education as a privilege, and we teach boys to look at it in the same way.
Residents spend a great deal of time hunting, playing sports, and just learning how to enjoy healthy fun again.
We begin with physical training with the goal of bringing boys up to a minimum level of fitness. They build muscle, they feel good about themselves, and they gain a positive achievement as they begin to see progress in their fitness goals. Those achievements carry over into other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in their education, their accomplishments develop confidence so that boys are built up.
MRCA goes beyond trqditional boarding schools in that it helps boys to mentally understand the ramifications of bad actions. Their thinking straightens out and their inappropriate behavior turns into character and integrity. At Master’s Ranch, we give boys every opportunity to be successful.
We have certified teachers on staff who offer instruction and one-on-one tutoring assistance to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accommodate both ends of the academic spectrum. The flexible curriculum allows students who may be having difficulty with certain subjects to accomplish them and catch up. Advanced coursework and a college-prep programs are scheduled for those who excel academically and wish to get ahead.
Our boarding academy operates year-round, to keep students engaged and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. During the summers we run a half-day academic regimen to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
After the boys are at the ranch for a time, they have a chance for work experience in select businesses nearby. It allows them to exercise their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. The wage they earn is put into an account that they withdraw when they leave. The ranch itself also offers some industries for the boys young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys are trained marketable skills and a self-confidence from these opportunities.
Teens participate in regular devotions and weekly church services, so they have opportunities to ask questions about life and choose a relationship with Jesus. We offer group and individual counseling and person-to-person mentorship and spiritual direction.

Roscoe is a village in Winnebago County, Illinois, a suburb of Rockford incorporated in 1965. The village is in a suburban area along the Rock River. It is part of the Rockford, Illinois Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2010 census, the village population was 10,785, up from 6,244 at the 2000 census.
