We begin with physical training to bring boys up to a minimum level of fitness. We have excellent teachers on our personnel who offer instruction and one-on-one tutoring attention to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accommodate both ends of the academic spectrum. The flexible curriculum allows students who may be having difficulty with certain subjects to master them and catch up. Advanced coursework and a college-prep programs are available for those who succeed academically and desire to get ahead.
Our residential academic program operates year-round, to keep students involved and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. All summer we run a half-day academic regimen to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
Boys who have improved their actions and have become trustworthy are given opportunities for work experience in select businesses nearby. It allows them to try out their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. The wage they earn is put into an account that they take home with them when they leave. The ranch itself also provides some vocational opportunities for the boys young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys are trained marketable skills and a self-confidence from these endeavors.
Residents have access to daily devotions and weekly church services, so they have the chance to ask questions about life and choose a relationship with Jesus. We offer biblical counseling and life-on-life mentorship and spiritual direction.
