Boarding Schools for Boys in North Dakota…Do They Provide Help for Troubled Boys Like Master’s Ranch Does?
Master’s Ranch in Missouri may be exactly the place that can help your boy if he’s getting in trouble and is getting into trouble. A boarding school just for at-risk boys, we enroll boys from North Dakota and other states. We would love the opportunity to tell you about our affordable program, even if you are in North Dakota.
If your needs someone to confide in who will hear him and speak truth to him without judgment, we are here to help. We provide counseling throughout the week, both individual and also group counseling sessions.
Throughout each boy’s stay, we engage them constantly as someone they can talk to freely, making therapy non-threatening and ongoing and in a more natural environment. We maintain a watchful eye, especially in the early days, but we do so while surrounding them with loving care and inspiring them toward a personal relationship with God. We run like a family, caring for these boys no matter what and going through the days next to them, coaching and leading them.
With a Mission to Give Teens from North Dakota a New Path in Life
Master’s Ranch is a home away from home for boys from other states like North Dakota, who need proper direction to change the course of their lives. Parents bring their young men, age 12-17, to Master’s Ranch after seeing them begin to get in trouble and headed on a downward spiral which cannot be stopped by counseling alone.
Boys at MRCA spend a great deal of their weekends and free time outdoors, playing sports, and just learning how to enjoy wholesome fun again. They are brought to our boarding school to live in a disciplined environment, learning obedience and personal responsibility through a renewed focus on faith, caring for themselves and their future, and through caring for the animals on our ranch. We view education as a privilege, and we teach boys to view it in the same way.
Adventure and Physical Outlets are Important in our Boarding School for Boys
We start with physical exercise to bring boys up to a minimum level of fitness. They develop strength, their self-esteem improves, and they experience something positive as they begin to see progress in their fitness goals. Those achievements carry over into other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in their education, their accomplishments develop confidence so that boys are built up.
Academic Training for Boys from North Dakota
We have excellent teachers on our personnel who provide instruction and one-on-one tutoring attention to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accommodate both ends of the academic spectrum. The self-paced curriculum allows students who may be struggling with certain subjects to master them and catch up. Advanced coursework and a college-prep programs are available for those who excel academically and desire to get ahead.
Our residential academic program operates year-round, to keep students engaged and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. During the summers we run a partial academic regimen to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
Helping Boys learn New Boundaries
MRCA goes beyond traditional boarding schools in that it helps young men to mentally come to terms with the consequences of bad choices. Their thinking clears and their inappropriate behavior turns into character and integrity. At Master’s Ranch, we give boys every opportunity to be successful.
Troubled Boys from North Dakota Learn from Vocational Training
Boys who have improved their actions and have become trustworthy are given opportunities for vocational experience in select businesses nearby. It allows them to exercise their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dime they earn is put into an account that they withdraw when they leave. The ranch itself also offers some industries for the boys young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys are trained marketable skills and a real sense of accomplishment from these endeavors.
At Master’s Ranch Spiritual Training Leads to Improved Behaviors in Boys
Boys take part in daily devotions and weekly church services, so they have the chance to ask questions about life and choose a relationship with Jesus. We provide biblical counseling and life-on-life mentoring and spiritual direction.
