Boarding Schools for Boys in North Carolina…Do They Provide Help for Troubled Boys Like Master’s Ranch Does?
Master’s Ranch in Missouri could be exactly the place that can help your boy if he’s getting in trouble and is getting into trouble. A boarding school just for at-risk boys, we help boys from North Carolina and other states. We would love the chance to tell you about our affordable program, even if you are in North Carolina.
If your needs someone trustworthy who will listen to him and guide him without judgment, we are here to help. We provide therapy throughout the week, both individual and also group counseling sessions.
Throughout each boy’s stay, we engage them constantly as a friend they can talk to freely, making therapy non-threatening and ongoing and in a more natural environment. We maintain a watchful eye, especially in the early days, but we do so while surrounding them with loving care and inspiring them toward a personal relationship with God. We run like a family, loving these boys through their struggles and going through the days right with them, coaching and instructing them.
Founded to Offer Sons from North Carolina a New Path in Life
Master’s Ranch is a new home for adolescent boys from other states like North Carolina, who need proper direction to change the course of their lives. Parents enroll their boys, age 12-17, to Master’s Ranch after seeing them begin to get in trouble and headed on a downward spiral which cannot be stopped by counseling alone.
Boys at MRCA spend a lot of their free time fishing, playing sports, and just learning how to enjoy good clean fun again. They are brought to our boarding school to live in a structured environment, learning respect for authority and personal responsibility through a renewed focus on faith, caring for themselves and their future, and through caring for the animals on our ranch. We treat education as a privilege, and we teach boys to look at it in the same way.
Adventure and Physical Outlets are Important in our Boarding School for Boys
We start right away with physical exercise with the goal of bringing boys up to a minimum level of fitness. They build strength, they have a reason to feel good about themselves, and they gain something positive as they begin to see progress in their fitness goals. Those achievements carry over into other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in their education, their achievements build confidence so that boys are built up.
Academic Training for Boys from North Carolina
We have excellent teachers on our personnel who offer instruction and one-on-one tutoring assistance to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accommodate both ends of the academic spectrum. The self-paced curriculum allows students who may be struggling with certain courses to accomplish them and catch up. Advanced coursework and a college-prep programs are ready for those who succeed academically and wish to get ahead.
Our residential academic program operates year-round, to keep students involved and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. All summer we run a partial academic regimen to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
Helping Boys Understand Boundaries
MRCA goes beyond traditional boarding schools in that it helps boys to mentally come to terms with the consequences of bad actions. Their thinking straightens out and their inappropriate behavior is replaced with character and integrity. Master’s Ranch gives boys a reason to succeed.
Troubled Boys from North Carolina Learn from Vocational Training
After the boys are at the ranch for a time, they have a chance for vocational experience in the local economy. It allows them to try out their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dime they earn is put into a fund that they withdraw when they leave. The ranch itself also provides some industries for the boys young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys gain marketable skills and a self-confidence from these endeavors.
A Place Where Spiritual Training Leads to Improved Behaviors in Boys
Teens participate in regular devotions and weekly church services, so they have the chance to ask questions about God and experience a relationship with Jesus. We offer group and individual counseling and ongoing mentoring and spiritual direction.
