If your needs someone trustworthy who will hear him and speak truth to him without judgment, we are here to help. We provide therapy throughout the week, both one-on-one and also group counseling sessions.

Throughout each boy’s stay, we engage them constantly as someone they can talk to freely, making our counsel non-threatening and ongoing and in a more natural environment. We maintain a watchful eye, especially at the start, but we do so while surrounding them with loving care and inspiring them toward a personal relationship with God. We are set up like a family, loving these boys no matter what and going through the days alongside them, coaching and training them.

DSCN0609Founded to Give Boys from Nevada a New Start in Life

Master’s Ranch is a second home for teenage boys from other states like Nevada, who need proper direction to turn their lives around. Parents enroll their boys, age 12-17, to Master’s Ranch after seeing them begin to get in trouble and headed on a downward spiral that cannot be helped by counseling alone.

Boys at MRCA spend a lot of their weekends and free time camping, playing sports, and just learning how to have good clean fun again. They are brought to our boarding school to live in a disciplined environment, learning obedience and personal responsibility through a renewed focus on faith, caring for themselves and their future, and through caring for the animals on our ranch. We view education as a privilege, and we teach boys to look at it in the same way.

We begin with physical exercise with the goal of bringing boys up to a minimum level of fitness. They gain muscle, their self-respect improves, and they experience a positive achievement as they begin to see progress in their fitness goals. The same concepts also work well in other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in school, their positive experiences build confidence so that boys are built up.

Academic Training for Boys from Nevada

We have qualified teachers on staff who provide instruction and one-on-one tutoring assistance to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we accomplish both ends of the academic spectrum. The self-paced curriculum allows students who may be having difficulty with certain subjects to master them and catch up. Advanced coursework and a college-prep programs are ready for those who succeed academically and desire to get ahead.

Our residential academic program operates year-round, to keep students involved and to give them the chance to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. During normal summer break we run a half-day academic schedule to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.

Helping Boys learn New Boundaries

MRCA goes beyond traditional boarding schools in that it helps boys to mentally comprehend the results of bad choices. Their thinking clears and their destructive behavior is replaced with character and integrity. At Master’s Ranch, we give boys every opportunity to be successful.

Boys who have improved their actions and have become trustworthy are given a chance for work experience in the local economy. It allows them to try out their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. Every dime they earn is put into a fund that they withdraw when they go home. The ranch itself also offers some vocational opportunities for the boys young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys are trained marketable skills and a self-confidence from these endeavors.

A Place Where Spiritual Training Leads to Improved Behaviors in Boys

Teens have access to daily devotions and weekly church services, so they have opportunities to ask questions about God and discover a relationship with Jesus. We offer pastoral counseling and ongoing mentoring and spiritual guidance.

More about boarding schools  for boys in Nevada:

Nevada is a state in the western, mountain west, and southwestern regions of the United States. Nevada is the 7th most extensive, the 35th most populous, and the 9th least densely populated of the 50 United States. It is the most extensive U.S. state that does not border Canada, Mexico, or an ocean. Over two-thirds of Nevada’s people live in the Las Vegas metropolitan area, which contains its three largest incorporated cities. Nevada’s capital is Carson City.
Nevada is largely desert and semiarid, with much of it located within the Great Basin. Areas south of the Great Basin are located within the Mojave Desert, while Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada mountains lie on the western edge. Approximately 86% of the state’s land is owned by the US government under various jurisdictions, both civilian and military.
The name Nevada is derived from the nearby Sierra Nevada mountains, which means “snow-capped mountain range” in Spanish. The land comprising the modern state was inhabited by Native Americans of the Paiute, Shoshone, and Washoe tribes prior to European contact. It was subsequently claimed by Spain as a part of Alta California until the Mexican War of Independence brought it under Mexican control. The United States gained the territory in 1848 following its victory in the Mexican-American War and the area was eventually incorporated as part of Utah Territory in 1850. The discovery of silver at the Comstock Lode in 1859 led to a population boom that was an impetus to the creation of Nevada Territory out of western Utah Territory in 1861. Nevada became the 36th state on October 31, 1864.
The establishment of legalized gambling and lenient marriage and divorce proceedings in the 20th century transformed Nevada into a major tourist destination. The tourism industry remains Nevada’s largest employer, with mining continuing to be a substantial sector of the economy as Nevada is the fourth largest producer of gold in the world.
Nevada is officially known as the “Silver State” due to the importance of silver to its history and economy. It is also known as the “Battle Born State” because it achieved statehood during the Civil War and the “Sagebrush State” for the native eponymous plant.
