The self-paced curriculum allows students who may be having difficulty with certain courses to accomplish them and catch up. Advanced coursework and a college-prep programs are scheduled for those who succeed academically and desire to get ahead.
Our boarding school operates year-round, to keep students engaged and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. During the summers we run a shortened academic regimen to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
Boys who have improved their actions and have become trustworthy are given opportunities for work experience in select businesses nearby. It allows them to try out their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. The wage they earn is put into a fund that they take home with them when they leave. The ranch itself also provides some vocational opportunities for the boys young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys are trained marketable skills and a self-confidence from these opportunities.
