Boarding Schools for Boys in Kentucky…Do They Provide Help for Troubled Boys Like Master’s Ranch Does?
Master’s Ranch in Missouri may be exactly what that can help your boy if he’s getting in trouble and is hurting his own future. A boarding school just for at-risk boys, we help boys from Kentucky and other states. We would love the chance to tell you about our affordable program, even if you are in Kentucky.
If your could use someone trustworthy who will hear him and speak truth to him without judgment, we are here to help. We provide counseling throughout the week, both one-on-one and also in a group setting.
Throughout each boy’s stay, we engage them constantly as someone they can talk to freely, making therapy non-threatening and ongoing and in a more natural environment. We maintain a watchful eye, especially at the start, but we do so while giving them loving care and inspiring them toward a personal relationship with God. We operate like a family, caring for these boys through their struggles and going through the days next to them, coaching and training them.
Designed to Give Sons from Kentucky a New Start in Life
Master’s Ranch is a home away from home for adolescent boys from other states like Kentucky, who need proper direction to change the course of their lives. Parents bring their boys, age 12-17, to Master’s Ranch after learning that they’ve begun to get in trouble and headed on a downward spiral that cannot be helped by counseling alone.
Boys at MRCA spend a lot of time fishing, playing sports, and generally learning how to enjoy wholesome fun again. They are brought to our boarding school to live in a disciplined environment, learning obedience and personal responsibility through a renewed focus on faith, caring for themselves and their future, and through caring for the animals on our ranch. We value education as a privilege, and we teach boys to think about it in the same way.
Adventure and Physical Outlets are Important in our Boarding School for Boys
We start with physical exercise with the goal of bringing boys up to a minimum level of fitness. They build strength, they have a reason to feel good about themselves, and they experience something positive as they begin to see progress in their fitness goals. Those achievements carry over into other areas. In work projects and vocational skills and even in their education, their accomplishments bolster confidence so that boys are built up.
Academic Training for Boys from Kentucky
We have excellent teachers on staff who provide instruction and one-on-one tutoring attention to the students. At Master’s Ranch, we focus on both ends of the academic spectrum. The flexible curriculum allows students who may be having difficulty with certain subjects to accomplish them and catch up. Advanced coursework and a college-prep programs are scheduled for those who excel academically and desire to get ahead.
Our boarding academy operates year-round, to keep students engaged and to give them the opportunity to catch up or retake courses and improve their grade point average. During the summers we run a shortened academic regimen to allow time for projects, sports and recreation.
Helping Boys learn New Boundaries
MRCA goes beyond traditional boarding schools in that it helps boys to mentally realize the ramifications of bad choices. Their thinking clears and their inappropriate behavior turns into character and integrity. Master’s Ranch gives boys a reason to succeed.
Troubled Boys from Kentucky Learn from Vocational Training
Boys who have improved their actions and have become trustworthy are given opportunities for work experience in select businesses nearby. It allows them to exercise their new coping skills and to earn money to help them once they leave the ranch. The wage they earn is put into an account that they take home with them when they go home. The ranch itself also offers some vocational opportunities for the boys young men to learn from, including handling the cattle, construction, pedigree dog breeding, and farming. The boys are trained marketable skills and a self-confidence from these opportunities.
A Place Where Spiritual Training Leads to Improved Behaviors in Boys
Residents participate in regular devotions and weekly church services, so they have opportunities to ask questions about God and experience a relationship with Jesus. We offer group and individual counseling and person-to-person mentoring and spiritual guidance.
Our Boarding School Sends Boys from Kentucky Out Ready for Tomorrow
Boys from Kentucky who graduate the Master’s Ranch program may return home to Kentucky to complete high school and rejoin their parents, or they may continue on to college, further trades training, employment, or the military. Master’s Ranch graduates are highly prepared for productive lives.
